Best wishes to your mom, for a successful surgery. When she's recovering, you can go visit her and give her a kiss. That will cheer her up and speed up her healing process.

Good morning @MinnieM123 do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

Mornin' Figgy! Looking forward to the 3-day, holiday weekend. Have some errands to run in the city tomorrow morning, but after that, the rest of the long weekend will be relaxing. We'll go out to dinner at our local place tonight (like we do every Friday night), but other than that no real plans. How about you?

I'm hoping for peace and quiet LOL I'll be one child short for the weekend maybe 2 depending if my older ds wants to go to grandma's. My shopping will get mostly done today with maybe a short errand early tomorrow. If it's quiet and I can get my chores done I'm going to finally get some reading and sewing caught up:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:

Obviously, you still haven't moved far enough south...! :D ;)
More then once that has been considered. :cold: However, in the end I like the slightly more moderate climate. Golf is my main pass time. I don't go golfing if it is below 45 degrees or above 80 so most of the year I am able to get out (at least mornings). I don't mind heat, but, I usually don't stay out in it for very long. If AC hadn't been invented I would probably have stayed up north. :)

I was looking at a history book of this area in the late 1800's to early 1900's. No AC and the clothing that people wore, especially women (but not exclusively) back then... I'm not sure how they survived. It does get some kind of hot and humid in these here parts. All I can think of is how miserable they must have felt back then and deodorant hadn't been invented yet either. Man, oh, man! :in pain::depressed:

Yeah that isn't how it really works from car parts to mugs. Look at every single teeny tiny part in a car that is plastic. Look at all the buttons just on your arm rest alone. Having molds laying in wait just in case that at minimum cost over $500,000. No way do they have all these extra molds hanging around as backup. It would just escalate the prices of all things plastic. I worked briefly about 2 years doing cost accounting for a mold making company. The hubby co-owner of a mold shop. I've seen production just completely halt when the parts that were shot and in reserve dwindle and the daily calls for updates on the crashed mold. I know last year one for Toyota had their shop going 24/7 to rebuild the crashed mold, that is a lot overtime manufactures are willing to pay to get the molds back up and running.
so, they are all reactive and not proactive (aka act only when things fail and not have a backup?)
Sounds pretty illogical. Because for many factories.. a simple stop for more than 1 day could cost millions in production lost.

You should be able to get one soon. Happens every year big run on a toy. The price goes crazy on the resale market and then by February they are most often available:cautious:
Reminds me of the crazyness when the PS3 launched.

Worse when there were some kids who were all "lol, lets destroy a PS3 infront of those who are still in line waiting for one".
I mean.. really?

Hopefully it wont be as insane with Nintendo.

Interesting time ahead this year. My mother did another one of her incredible stunts and managed to fall over her own crutches and plant on the floor about a week ago. This weeks visit to the Dr has seen her put in line for a hip replacement. Seems like it's her turn for the injury this year.
yikes, sorry to hear that. having hip replacement surgery is definitively not fun and requires a lot of exercises to fully recover.
