Good morning, I'm trying to look on the bright side it's above 0. With any luck I'll get some peace and quiet today but one school not far from us already posted a 3 hour delay.

No delay for Minnie, though! I'll be out there commuting at my usual time, even though it's a little nippy out this AM.

3 hour delay. They minds well just cancel the whole day

Due to various reasons, some school districts delay for 2-3 hours; others, none at all. It helps to not cancel a whole day of school, as it picks away at the allowance the school districts have for snow days when they really have to shut down. (And then they'd have to tack on additional days at the end of the school year to make up the hours missed.)

Plus, I think it's better for the kids to realize that a delay, when warranted, is one thing, but that "business is usual" (heading into school after the delay) is how they'll have to live their lives moving forward. Better that they start to accept this reality now, instead of being coddled. (And I'm not referring to the really little school-age kids--it's more about the middle to high school aged kids). Just my opinion only here.

Wow! Wonder how they feel about the Pirates and the Great Movie Ride. Reminds me of the threads that pop up now and again about the Haunted Mansion being too scary, Billy cried and it should be changed.

I love the Haunted Mansion...one of my favorites. And I don't find the ride at all scary, but the pre-show in the entrance hall is a bit spooky and the rider swap isn't until AFTER that. I think they need to make the change OUTSIDE before you get to the preshow area, but not actually change the ride!

I had a dream last night that I was babysitting @figmentfan423 's boys for a week while she was doing something..I don't remember what, and when I left the room, her oldest skyped her to complain that I wasn't supervising them enough/giving them enough to do. Pretty sure they are beyond the stage of needing "babysitters" and I could find PLENTY for them to do even if they did need it. I somehow don't think that would be a complaint in real life...it would be "Mom, she won't leave us alone!! This is supposed to be a vacation!"

FULLER HOUSE!!!! YAY! I finally finished all my obligatory reading and can watch Fuller House and then start on my birthday present...NCIS Los Angeles seasons 1-6. And I can finally read what I WANT to read. Though I did enjoy the last thing I read immensley more than I expected. I BETA read for a friend of mine who is wanting to get published. I was reading Outlander earlier this year when she needed readers, so I hadn't gotten around to reading it. I guess a bunch of people didn't like it (too dark) and one person told her that she was embarrassed for her with how bad it was. (ouch, HARSH) And even the person who wrote it kept telling me "It's terrible....you won't like it. Don't read it. Please." But I kind of took that as a challenge and it really was NOT bad. It was a bit of a departure from her normal genre, but it was actually really well written and it was very real. It was appropriate for what it was. I would send her a text asking her a question and she'd say "Oh...I'm so surprised you noticed that...that's what I was going for, but so-and-so didn't see it" or "Just wait...you are going to loathe it any moment now" and I'd wait for the big moment that it would be too much and it never came! I feel so bad that I didn't read it sooner because she's been walking around having lost her confidence, mostly because of the one person, and she so didn't need to! So now she's relieved that it's not completely rubbish, just apparently not for everyone. And now I can move on to Harry Potter again...or Twilight...or Pride and Prejudice...haven't decided which one to start with, but I need comfort reading and those are my go-to books when I want something familiar.

@Cesar R M , Did you read the book Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. It's very good..I read it last year and was really excited for the movie. I enjoyed the movie, but the last half is different from the book...I was curious if what you didn't like about the movie was the same for the book, in your opinion. I'm not sure I understood what it was you thought was stupid with the movie...but if you haven't read the book, I'd suggest reading it. It's better than the movie. I watched it with some friends in October and they hadn't even realized it was based on a book, so none of them had read it. But books are almost always better than their movie adaptations.

@Songbird76 thnx for cheering me up I looked outside and since I have no absolutely reason to leave my house I'm staying in and taking care of mount laundry and I'm going to finish watching Frozen. I remember hearing do you want to build a snowman and my dh shaking me telling me to go to bed. I did pour a glass of wine didn't get to that either I hate winter and would say rant over but we're still on the rain/snow/mix line so I'm sure it will continue into tomorrow. Sorry.

Our theater has advanced ticket purchases and reserved seating. We're not worried about getting there super early.

Our theater has advanced ticket sales too. He bought them the day they went on sale. He just wanted to get there early to get the seats he wanted. We went with a large group of people and he wanted to make sure we got spots together. I think we could have arrived an hour later at least but there was no arguing with him.

The movie is pretty awesome, I hope you enjoy it when you see it.

Our Advent Calendar was 7 feet tall, a quilt. It had pockets with the numbers on it. There was always something little in there. And yes it was the countdown to Jesus Birthday. On Christmas Day dessert was always a Birthday Cake for Jesus and we sung Happy Birthday to Jesus.

We had a birthday cake for Jesus too, and sang Happy Birthday to him as well.

Thanks. We're seeing it this afternoon.

For Star Wars, when you purchase your ticket with our theater, you select your seat right then. They made that policy when TFA came out. Prevents people from crowding, especially since parking is fairly limited. We saw TFA at our other theater, and I decided never again.

I did my hair sort of I brushed it, but with you on the no make up jammies thing. Sorry you have to go out! I'd offer my elf services but it's way too cold to go outside. I hope it warms just a bit before the carp starts.
