Thank you for caring but meat causes other issues which are not pretty. I never liked meat so I don't miss it and my iron levels are fine. I'm just a summer person:joyfull: I love everything about it warm weather, pretty clothes, not having to worry about how many layers to wear, being able to cook outside, pool time. I could go on for pages about my love of summer:joyfull:

Someone was upset with having "armed" Stormtroopers on Disney property. They felt that it was not appropriate for children.

Wow! Wonder how they feel about the Pirates and the Great Movie Ride. Reminds me of the threads that pop up now and again about the Haunted Mansion being too scary, Billy cried and it should be changed.

Our Advent calendar didn't have "prizes or candy". You would put them up on a window and everyday you would open up a door and a religious picture would show up like a stained glass window in church. It was just a countdown calendar to what my parents billed as "Jesus's birthday". I know that sounds pious for a person with my current reputation, but, we always loved getting up in the morning and opening up that little door. One day closer! Then again we didn't have video games to keep us occupied. For that I am forever grateful.

Our Advent Calendar was 7 feet tall, a quilt. It had pockets with the numbers on it. There was always something little in there. And yes it was the countdown to Jesus Birthday. On Christmas Day dessert was always a Birthday Cake for Jesus and we sung Happy Birthday to Jesus.

Are you trying to tell me that there is hope that we can all come together and understand one another??? It sure would be nice if there wasn't this big divide that we seem to have going on!

Yep, thinking the last time 'we' came together for the common good was the weeks and months after 9/11.
I can almost cope with some of the divides and stubbornness. I can't grasp the need to hang onto the baggage, lots seem to feed off that. Now nutso talk I have zero tolerance for.

Everyone needs a security clearance so maybe that has something to do with it.

I have no hope for the bitter divide and the selfishness of this country.

Yep. And I've yet to find another place I'd want to be a citizen of and likely why there is such a long list of people wanting in vs out. Blessed I feel about being born here over the many many other places the stork could have dropped me. Thankful for that.

We can be beyond frustrated but there are also so many good people with kind hearts. The lemonade.

I had my adenoids removed at the same time as my tonsils. I still got a lot of sinus infections, though recently not as many. I didn't even have a sinus infection with this one. It just went straight to my chest.

I have an antibiotic. It's pretty standard procedure here with asthma. For most people, they like to take the wait-and-see approach, but if it's hanging on or you have an upper respiritory condition, they give you antibiotics. Because they can't risk it going into pneumonia. That puts an asthmatic into a life-threatening situation.

She could also hear me wheezing. Typically, I don't wheeze; I just get tight. After that, she was like, "Why don't I get you an antibiotic?" I do like the practice I go to. There's a lot of doctors there, so you can easily get seen if you're sick, and for the most part, they don't think they're gods.

I am starting to feel a tad better. Antibiotic kicking in, and I'm home with a cat on my lap. So all is good.
Just me but I think the cat on the lap is the best medicine:joyfull:

Oh, those threads make me insane. (Oh wait . . . I am already. :p )

Let me rephrase: those threads make me mad. If some parents want to shield their kids from every possible bad thing (or even things not bad things at all--just fantasy), then those kids are going to wake up to a really tough reality, once they're out on their own--and they find out that bad experiences are as much a part of life, as good experiences. Really, I just shake my head at some of the junk I read.

I recall as a little tot (I was about 3 years old), my mother took me to see Santa at one of the big department stores in Boston. I was very excited with my mother's buildup of the visit, but when I sat on Santa's lap, I freaking hated his guts! :hilarious: Started crying for my mother to take me away from this scary stranger, and she had to rescue me. Fast forward to 2016: if that situation happened today, would parents start up a petition to ban all Santas, so that just a random, few little kids would not get scared??!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:
