I love my dh but sometimes I swear his brain is made of swiss cheese. He just sent me a text asking if we have anything going on next Saturday because a few of the guys want to get the project they're working on finished quickly. Nope nothing important just Christmas Eve Feast of the 7 fishes and first night of Hanukkah. Nope nothing important:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: The one guy and his dw just had a baby and they're supposed to go see Santa with their parents that day can't wait to hear the response he gets:D

@Songbird76 thnx for cheering me up:joyfull: I looked outside and since I have no absolutely reason to leave my house I'm staying in and taking care of mount laundry and I'm going to finish watching Frozen. I remember hearing do you want to build a snowman and my dh shaking me telling me to go to bed. I did pour a glass of wine didn't get to that either:( I hate winter and would say rant over but we're still on the rain/snow/mix line so I'm sure it will continue into tomorrow. Sorry.
You're welcome...how did I cheer you up, though? I'm so sorry about the weather. My dad called and said they were expecting to get down to -30 tonight, but I'm not sure if that's actual temp or with windchill. But he's staying with friends, so he should be safe. I hate it when it gets really bad like that and he's all alone on the ranch, 20-40 miles from civilization in any direction...more in some directions. It makes me nervous because if the power goes out, he's SOL for days as they can't get to him easily to fix it. And he has well water, so if that freezes, he has no water. A year or two he was without heat, electricity, or running water for 3 days. Then his friends tried to rescue him from his ranch and bring him into town and ran off the road into a snow drift and got themselves stuck, too, so they couldn't get to him. I reamed him out for that one...he knew a big storm was coming. He had no business staying on the ranch and he endangered his friends because he begged them to come get him when he realized how bad it really was! He must have taken it to heart because he was sure to let me know he's heading to his friends' house for a few days until the storm passes. Stay warm! Hope it warms up a bit for you soon! And I hope it doesn't get as bad where you are.

I got a good giggle from your dream:) It's warmed all the way up to 20 but it looks as of now it will be all snow with little to no ice. Next week is supposed to be much better and the long term for the next few weeks looks like above average temps:joyfull:

Devastating to see this. We lost 13 firefighter's on King Mountains several years ago, I still haven't got over this. So many needless death's. Please don't set a camp fire if you don't know how to put it out. We did a camp fire in an approved grate. Then we wait, and kicked the coals for a couple hours to make sure it was out, along with flooding it with water. You can never be too careful. If I couldn't pick up a "coal" we didn't leave until I could.

Yep, that was something I learned at a very young age. A fire is not out until you can run your fingers through the muddy ashes without getting burned.
All it takes is one time getting burned, to learn how to make sure all the embers are really out. ;)
