Thanks. Those words of support do help. We have a wdw trip planned for next month. My first thought was to cancel, but then I realized how much we both need to get away. My surgery isn't until the week after our planned trip. If I sit home, I'll worry myself sick.
Okay, I'll get off my pity party now and go to something happier.
Does anyone know if anywhere other than Sci Fi has a good veggie burger?
All the qs ones are terrible. We have a SF ressie, but it's for 9:20 PM. That's just too late for us.
Last time I was there about 3 years ago it was about the same as the qs ones. CR has a falafel burger my ds and I really liked. Hope that helped

It's been a weird day today, I went to my great aunt's funeral today. She passed away last Thursday, she was probably the kindest and most giving woman that I've ever known. She was 94 so it wasn't totally unexpected but until the last year she still lived on her own and lived independently. The service was really nice but the weird part was afterward my uncle (who was really cruel to my mom) tried to be all buddy buddy with my sister and I. :grumpy: We didn't make a scene as it wasn't the day for that but we left shortly after. We felt we had paid our respects but didn't want to deal with family drama.
Sorry to hear that but for her to live that long on her own was a blessing. I had a grandmother that did that until she passed at 95. She still drove great and all.

I'm so sorry for your loss, prayers and pixie dust

Thanks.

My mom died unexpectedly two weeks ago. I am having such a hard time dealing with this. I was already dealing with possibly having cancer again. I just need a little sympathy from some great people.

Sorry to hear about your loss and possibly having cancer. A WDW trip might be some good therapy.

Condolences to you as well, about your great aunt. What impressed me the most about what you wrote was that she was independent up until one year prior to her passing. That speaks volumes, and she must have had a great life (not to mention the gift of good health).

As for your uncle, all I can say from my own experience with relatives, is that I can barely tolerate them in small doses. I think you and your sister paid your respects and exited, which seemed to be the reasonable course of action.

Thanks, I wish she had been a blood relative, then I might have some of her good genes!

We don't have Veterans Day off either, but we will have a ceremony at school!
We had a Veteran's Afternoon Tea at school yesterday. Students invited one vet in their family to have tea, coffee or milk with donuts and cookies with them in the cafeteria while each grade sang patriotic songs or recited poems. There were probably about 40 vets that came. The only vets in our family are currently stationed in Qatar and California. Kinda far for tea.
