On how wonderful! We saw a rainbow, that was made up of four rainbows, stuck together. It was in the mountains, after a thunderstorm, unfortunately we didn't have a camera.

Yep, I remember when MTV first came on the air. Fortunately, a short-lived novelty to me, others, not so much. And, it just got completely stupid over the years like every other groundbreaking channel.
"Reality" TV. Follow the money trail...all those once valid channels wouldn't be airing the carp they currently are if folks weren't watchin'... :cyclops:
I don't waste my time watching Reality TV. Just like soap opera's back in the day. Total waste of time. I can't afford to waste time!;)

We had a Veteran's Afternoon Tea at school yesterday. Students invited one vet in their family to have tea, coffee or milk with donuts and cookies with them in the cafeteria while each grade sang patriotic songs or recited poems. There were probably about 40 vets that came. The only vets in our family are currently stationed in Qatar and California. Kinda far for tea.
What a wonderful way to remember the sacrifices the Veterans, give for our Country.

I agree, hubby still wants it. I do watch the cooking shows. The history channel is also a favorite, along with the Science Channel.
Cable cutting update. I can live without the cable! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The antenna picks up all our local stations, we have both Netflix and Hulu and i have a computer hooked to one tv and that gets both and we have the Roku for the others. Netflix and Hulu sans commercials comes to about $23 a month. So far so good and I don't miss it at all. I've found both cooking(real cooking not the competition type) and lots of shows about history. We also get PBS on the Roku which has more than just our local stuff. We have decided to drop Amazon Prime because we hardly ever order anything and there would be too much overlap for video. Hope this helps. BTW all 3 services offer free trial periods

It wasn't meant to be political. It's history, it is what it is and let's leave it at that.

Huh??? How could those two men not scream politics. The very definition of political figures entrenched in a very Political Election. Nothing less than that.

We don't have Veterans Day off either, but we will have a ceremony at school!

Oh, that is very nice! When hubs was a kid, their school would appoint a kid each week to be the "flag student". The student was responsible for taking the flag outside to the school janitor, and would assist in raising the flag in the morning, and taking down in the afternoon. We didn't have that my elementary school, but I did get to draw a flag on Veterans Day with our crayons. :)

That is very nice, too. Glad that the schools are keeping Veterans Day in the forefront for the children.
