Thank god, not a fan of most of these shows. :p
Just like how much I hated MTV when they switched from music to stupid realities about nobodies living in a department.

Yep, I remember when MTV first came on the air. Fortunately, a short-lived novelty to me, others, not so much. And, it just got completely stupid over the years like every other groundbreaking channel.
"Reality" TV. Follow the money trail...all those once valid channels wouldn't be airing the carp they currently are if folks weren't watchin'... :cyclops:

I dont think many neighbors would love bongos at 3 am.

My DD next to her apartment has new neighbors in the rental house next door. There is a gangway between the two buildings with lovely benches and plants. As I cut through there to get to my car I noticed the new people have a full drum set downstairs. She'll have fun next summer.

I love love love Garlic.

I make a mayo/sour cream/buttermilk based garlic salad dressing. It is awesome. I use it for a dip or topping for fish, for raw veggies, cheese chunks and of course salad. I make about 2 quarts of it at a time and give some to my neighbor and my Mom. My Dad use to love it too, he dipped pretzels and chips in it also.

Yes, I too am a major lover of garlic.
I wish I could invent a tasty garlic beer recipe...?!!! o_O ;)

It's been a weird day today, I went to my great aunt's funeral today. She passed away last Thursday, she was probably the kindest and most giving woman that I've ever known. She was 94 so it wasn't totally unexpected but until the last year she still lived on her own and lived independently. The service was really nice but the weird part was afterward my uncle (who was really cruel to my mom) tried to be all buddy buddy with my sister and I. :grumpy: We didn't make a scene as it wasn't the day for that but we left shortly after. We felt we had paid our respects but didn't want to deal with family drama.
I'm so sorry for your loss, prayers and pixie dust

That's why we're cutting the cable! for years there was some really great programming, DIY shows, shows about real history, cooking shows about food and how to prepare it, now it's mostly junk:mad::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

My mom died unexpectedly two weeks ago. I am having such a hard time dealing with this. I was already dealing with possibly having cancer again. I just need a little sympathy from some great people.

Sorry to hear your sad news. The loss of a mother is a major loss, and it will take time to work through your feelings.

Whenever there is trauma in someone's life, I think it's helpful to suggest that the person just get through, one day at a time. Do only the minimum of what you need to do (your job, buying groceries, weekly laundry, etc.), and give yourself as much time as you can to relax, through this most difficult time. Your daughter may also provide you with comfort and support, just as much as you can for her. Between the two of you together, you'll both get through this, and happier days will eventually be on the horizon.

Condolences to you as well, about your great aunt. What impressed me the most about what you wrote was that she was independent up until one year prior to her passing. That speaks volumes, and she must have had a great life (not to mention the gift of good health).

As for your uncle, all I can say from my own experience with relatives, is that I can barely tolerate them in small doses. I think you and your sister paid your respects and exited, which seemed to be the reasonable course of action.

Thanks. Those words of support do help. We have a wdw trip planned for next month. My first thought was to cancel, but then I realized how much we both need to get away. My surgery isn't until the week after our planned trip. If I sit home, I'll worry myself sick.
Okay, I'll get off my pity party now and go to something happier.
Does anyone know if anywhere other than Sci Fi has a good veggie burger?
All the qs ones are terrible. We have a SF ressie, but it's for 9:20 PM. That's just too late for us.
