12.5 %...?
I thought sales tax at WDW was still 6.5%, so I did a little research.
It is indeed still 6.5%...in Orange County, where the vast majority of Disney property is. However, I found one exception...the All Star Resorts are located in Osceola County, were the sales tax rate is 7%.
Does the 12.5% apply to something else Disney-related...?
The room receipt always says 12.5%. I don't know if hidden taxes are included. Doesn't explain the breakdown. I've never looked at our other receipts! Sorry, I didn't mean to miss lead any one. Thanks for looking this up.

It does seem so random and biased how certain films get nominated and others do not. It seems like these people think that just because a film is super popular it isn't arty enough for best picture or whatever. There is a reason the popular films are popular and usually it is because it is a good film. Oh well, I will like the films I like anyway.
Me too, I don't other's sway my opinion on something as personal as a movie. There will always be someone who likes it and some who don't!

Not sure what the issue was, but I have not been able to access the forums for most of today.

So...summary of today.

This morning I woke up and went to check my phone. I discovered the screen would not turn on. An online chat with HTC later determined my less-than-two -year-old phone needed replacing. Can't make or answer calls, basically a paper weight.

A cab ride and trip to the AT&T store later, and I have a new phone. Albeit a much better phone, but still not exactly how I intended to spend my day at WDW.

Spent the rest of today at Disney Quest, which was virtually empty. Apparently, attendance dropped off when they announced the closure. Then we spent the evening at Disney Springs. And yes, I did check out the new Star Wars shop. It was great. Although I found the lack of Rey disturbing.

DHS tomorrow.
Have a fun day!

When I was a kid Arby's was amazing. They had used fresh sliced beef cut very thin and then dipped quickly in to very hot beef drippings. Oh my was it good. A close duplicate to it was also the Chain called Lums. Arby's then went to a processed beef that they sliced and just added some beef gravy and it was so disgusting. Funny how profit margins of accountants can tank all profits. Greed has some awful results.
Hubby got food poisoning from Arby's, we never went back.:hungover:

More drama over here at the fun house. Appliances were scheduled to be delivered today, which I told Mr. Donkey, who said yesterday it was OK for the delivery people to move the ones he's taking into the garage. This morning he tells me to move my car because it may get scratched (while he's putting stuff into his van) and of course I get snarky with him. Seriously, though, why would my car possibly get scratched when our driveway is big enough to hold 3 cars across??? Because of that, he told me he would not allow the delivery people to touch "his" appliances (I had to point out they're still community property) for fear of them damaging them. Next thing I know he's saying he'll call the police if anyone touches him, he's recording the entire interaction with the delivery people, he's telling them we're in the middle of a divorce, and I know they're just thinking we're a couple of nut cases.

On top of that, now he's telling me that I will only have our daughter from Sat morning to Mon morning and he'll have her the rest of the time. Over my dead body!!!

Oh, and he may not be moving out this Sunday. Apparently that date wasn't actually the move date (even though his email says it is) - it's the date when he'll have all his "inside items" moved out. He won't be officially moved out until his "outside items" are moved as well. Isn't it lovely how he can just change his mind on a whim? :banghead:
Let him sleep in the garage, with "his" appliances!

Thats exactly why Arby's went bankrupt(just like there is no room for "taco bell")
If we want a sandwich like Arby's.. We can go to any corner store.. theres TORTAS (mexican sandwich) with fresh ingredients.. at 10% of the price of Arby's. If they had deluxe meats, it would have been a different story (hence why Carls Jr stays, everyone likes their premium burgers)
And here in Mexico.. noone takes taco bell seriously.. We have REAL TACO joints every 3 blocks.. freshly made, with real beef.. not that filling mcdonalds garbage (that is 20% meat and 80% derivatives and fillings).

Yet.. they were all "box office hits" and very popular. :p

eeh, actually.. I did hurt my nail RIGHT BEFORE boarding the Magical Express in route to the DVC unit.( as in arriving to orlando, not leaving)
So I had bandaids the entire trip. Going to check with the doctor tomorrow. I might have to get the entire nail removed as its falling apart.
That sounds so painful. I hope you don't have to have that done.

17? Lucky you!! I put a reminder on my phone so that I will remember to make my ADRs as soon as I can. The nice thing about living over here is that, when the online thing opens at 6:00 ET, it's noon here, so I don't have to get up early to do it. I can be ready that day...I think I'll sign my kids up to stay at school for lunch that day if I can...but I'm not sure if it's a Tuesday or Wednesday. If it's a Wednesday, I can't sign them up because it's only a half day. We'll see, but I have a strategy to sign up for the hardest to get ones first, and I made sure that I didn't put any hard to get ones in the first couple days of the trip, because I'll be able to sign up for them more than 180 days out then and I should be pretty sure of getting them. I'm raring to go!
Me too. It's a different trip this time staying at the Hilton, instead of a Disney hotel. We are using our last points, so it's virtually "free", except for resort taxes. Airline is free too, with many saved miles.
