When I was a kid Arby's was amazing. They had used fresh sliced beef cut very thin and then dipped quickly in to very hot beef drippings. Oh my was it good. A close duplicate to it was also the Chain called Lums. Arby's then went to a processed beef that they sliced and just added some beef gravy and it was so disgusting. Funny how profit margins of accountants can tank all profits. Greed has some awful results.
Oh has it changed? I haven't been to one in YEARS, but it used to be one of our favorites and one of the few places my mom would eat with her diabetes because it was healthier than a burger.

More drama over here at the fun house. Appliances were scheduled to be delivered today, which I told Mr. Donkey, who said yesterday it was OK for the delivery people to move the ones he's taking into the garage. This morning he tells me to move my car because it may get scratched (while he's putting stuff into his van) and of course I get snarky with him. Seriously, though, why would my car possibly get scratched when our driveway is big enough to hold 3 cars across??? Because of that, he told me he would not allow the delivery people to touch "his" appliances (I had to point out they're still community property) for fear of them damaging them. Next thing I know he's saying he'll call the police if anyone touches him, he's recording the entire interaction with the delivery people, he's telling them we're in the middle of a divorce, and I know they're just thinking we're a couple of nut cases.

On top of that, now he's telling me that I will only have our daughter from Sat morning to Mon morning and he'll have her the rest of the time. Over my dead body!!!

Oh, and he may not be moving out this Sunday. Apparently that date wasn't actually the move date (even though his email says it is) - it's the date when he'll have all his "inside items" moved out. He won't be officially moved out until his "outside items" are moved as well. Isn't it lovely how he can just change his mind on a whim? :banghead:
Uh....what are "inside items" and what are "outside items"? I mean I would think inside items would be like clothes, kitchen stuff, furniture....anything that lives inside. But then I have no idea what outside items would be, nor why you wouldn't live in the new place once you moved all the inside stuff. That makes no sense and is obviously just to mess with you.

Oy. Estates do such bad things to some families. Sad really. My Mom only wanted to have me but got talked into my Sis as the world didn't believe it was good to have only children. My Sis was a baby with lots of issues. Kinda got spoiled because of it, she had a rough couple years to which I heard your Sis is sick... suc it up basically, but I was little and didn't really comprehend at such a young age. Then she was a handful through high school and pushed my parents buttons through college and there after for a while. Me, I was really the fly on the wall at home and school.

My Mom remembers clearly how poor they were, lost their home (though my Aunt a Nun secured a new one in Indiana for them through Catholic Charities,) having to move to a new state by Junior High. She remembers clearly there not being food. Eating Oatmeal and bread my GrandDad would make along with more children almost every 18 months. So my Mom only wanted one kid so she could give attention to and not have to worry about funding though that didn't matter ultimately. My Mom's family had nothing to leave but my Dad's family had Wars over family stuff upon my Gran's death. I never saw any of his family after Gran's funeral until one of my Aunt Inlaw wake a few years ago. So 30+ years. And I certainly didn't tell my Dad I went. You would have thought I was the second coming of the Lord with the greeting I got by extended family members. Frankly I found it creepy cause I had not seen these people since I was in high school but I was very close to my Aunt when I was small. I've always been fond of the quote:

“Friends are God's way of apologizing for your family.”
I didn't even know I had cousins on my dad's side until I was a teenager. I thought my aunt and uncle were childless. Granted, my dad was an oops so his brother and sister were also more than 10 years older and then my dad was in his 40s when my brother and I were born and my cousins were all grown and had their own kids. But when my uncle died, we went to the funeral and that's where I found out I had cousins. When my grandfather died, I was only a year old, but my mom told me that dad and his siblings fought about EVERYTHING and my mom had gone over to help them clean the house and to cook so they could just worry about going through all the stuff, but my aunt in particular got really angry that she was there. She and my uncle were both divorced, so my dad was the only one who brought a spouse and my aunt decided it must be because my mom was trying to take a share for herself and insisted that my mom wasn't part of the family and needed to leave. She apologized to me later after my mom died, said she had just been so angry and that she got to know my mom better years later and she bitterly regretted how she had behaved then. But obviously I was too young to remember that funeral or anything, or that my aunt and uncle had children there. And when I was growing up, there were never any kids there for Thanksgiving and my dad never talked about having nieces or nephews or anything and when we'd go to my Aunt's or Uncle's house at Thanksgiving, it was just us, so I didn't know about the cousins until my uncle died. It was so weird to me because my mom was so close with all her cousins and they all lived in Illinois, but we KNEW them and visited them. My Uncle lived in the same town as me, and my aunt lived in the next one over, and I knew more about the relatives 1500 miles away than I did about the ones in my area. And I spent more time with my mom's family as we went there for several weeks every other year or so and I saw my dad's siblings one afternoon a year. I guess it just kind of depends on the family. But it's nice that you were welcomed when you went to that funeral. They must have missed you.

I heard the NBA pulled out, can't say I blame them, it was strange to start with for Disney. I was thinking how long before they could line up a new plan for the parcel. I suspect they would leave Quest in place, better than boarding up but I don't really see a clear business model with Disney anymore. They seem to be scattered in their development of projects, Avatar being so long as was the ever changing plans for FLE. Closing of Pleasure Island & Adventurers only to stall out on the Wharf and a forever before the ongoing Springs. Makes me wonder how long the Studio's projects will take before that park is viable again. I remember the CMs given notice in 2012 that Imagination would close immediately after New Years 2012 and the only movement on that is a DVC lounge forthcoming. :cautious: So there is some curiosity to how long Quest will hang around, it could just shutter like Adventures or WoL or hang in there like Imagination.
I can't find anything about NBA pulling out..when did that happen? I think my kids would love Disney Quest, but I hadn't figured they'd be able to see it because I thought it would already be closed when we got there. It would be nice if they could experience it. And I had no idea Imagination was supposed to close!

Boys are nowhere as picky as girls. As long as they get to pick the clothes at the store what to wear on which day isn't so important after the first week. Clothes just seem to go into a rotation based on the weather.
Yep. DS has several pairs of sweatpants (we switched from jeans to sweats because he was constantly stripping down, saying his pants made him itch, and be couldn't get his pants pulled back up after P.E. at school because showering is mandatory and then he's damp and the pants stick to his legs, and he couldn't get the buttons done up...motor skills issues. Sweats are more comfy and MUCH easier) and several t shirts in varying sleeve lengths. He just grabs whatever is on the top and puts it on. DD is a much lengthier process as she first has to decide whether she wants to wear a dress/skirt or pants, then pick out what matches, which leggings match and are for that temp, etc...and then there are accessories.

That was a funny rant on many star wars websites..

Rey is the MAIN CHARACTER in the whole movie.. and all packages of Star Wars do not have a single REY figure.. nor any other female lead.
The whole "separation" of gender roles in toys is still annoying as hell... but thats how many Toy maker CEOs still think today.
Like cavemen of the 50's.. where misogyny was "normal" and the only place for women was the kitchen..

by the way, I recommend using ubber. We used it at Orlando and was very effective.. almost half the price of a normal MEARS cab.
The price difference was ridiculous.
The problem with using Ubber was 1. Lack of a working smartphone and 2. As a young woman, I don't feel safe taking Ubber by myself. My dad suggested Ubber as an option (my out-of-work uncle drives for them) but we discussed it and decided against it.

Sorry about your phone. I do have a quick question. When you say serious lack of Rey is that due to the fact that less than 50% of the store is devoted to her or do you mean a true serious lack? Thank you and my my boys want to know how much Finn and BB8 stuff they have THNX
A serious lack. Especially in the toys. There was no single toy devoted to her. She was in an actiion figure set, but they had large dolls of Kylo Ren and Finn... But no Rey. There was more Finn than Rey. I got through half the store before seeing something with Rey on it.

Rey mostly appeared on shirts for girls and women and shirts where all the characters from the new film appeared.

Here's a snowman laugh. When my daughter was three we made a snowman. On one of her dad's visitation days he thought it would be funny to make it an anatomically correct "happy" snowman. ;) I realized it the next morning and sneaked outside to make him "unhappy" while she was watching tv. Buuut she was watched me through the window. For days she told everyone I knocked the snowman's arm off. :joyfull:
Thanks that was a real laugh out loud moment for me this morning.:D:hilarious:

It wasn't announced, but in News and Rumors a while ago they said NBA had pulled out. Regardless, DQ is still open. Keep an eye on the main page for an official closing date (if one comes along).

I will be so upset when Patrick Stewart and Morgan Freeman die. Two of my absolute favorites. But I love a lot of the others you list, too.

Sorry, but I won't be very sad when Arnold goes. Remember he was governor of our state. :banghead:
I love Patrick Stewart and Morgan Freeman. I will certainly mourn the loss of both of those actors. A lot of talent in those two individuals. Sorry about your Governor.
