I was at the grocery store yesterday and saw a bag of Ruffles that was different. I didn't buy them and now I wish I did, but they say they are Canada's favorite flavor so maybe our Canadian friends can comment, @JenniferS or @French Quarter ?

All Dressed have been here for my whole lifetime. I don't know if they are the most popular. It seems to me that regular and salt and vinegar would be more popular in my part of the country. But they might be the most poplar Ruffles flavours. Ruffles aren't that popular here because we have our own chip companies. I love All Dressed.

Yeah, everyone has their own ideas of family gatherings. None of us cared for gatherings at my MIL and we tried everything to avoid including going to Disney at Christmas, never did a Thanksgiving there. It was never pleasant when there was a gathering, my MIL made huge messes in the kitchen and then plop on couch, she had daughter in laws to clean up. :cautious: We'd easily spend 1 1/2 hours cleaning all she saved up for us to scrap clean and scourer. Been a good decade since my kids or I have attended one of those functions. I was prego with my first kid when my family started going out for Thanksgiving. I can't tell ya the last time my Sis was in for ThanksGiving, she is in el salvador this week instead. No hard feelings. Forget where she is going for Christmas but I'll see her the days before Eve as she is flying Cleveland Chicago to some warm place.

I have 20 something kiddos. I am very careful at this young adult age what I ask them to attend. If they wish too great, if not that is OK too. My DS has a lovely young lady, I really love her, smart, pretty and very nice. The rub is the demand of her family/family time, family vacations, extended family vacations. I can see clearly it is a sticking point that could be the demise ultimately. The tug of war of families not being able to let go of the control of the 20 somethings. I look at it like if you let them go they come back because they want to not because it is required. It makes for more enjoyable time together. It is just my take on my 20 somethings.
Your philosophy is the same as mine. If family want to show ...fine, if they don't...fine. They miss out. I'd rather have anyone who really wants to be somewhere else be there than be around someone grumpy. On Christmas Eve my sister has gone to having an early evening open house for family and her kids boyfriend/girlfriends (she has teens/20 somethings) and she has sloppy joes and all the fixins for dinner. The pizza idea is a good one. :)

I'm thinking on buying the PS4 as well, but way next year.. I have my eyes on the Ratchet and Clank new game.
SHHHH Don't say anything but my boys are getting the PS4 for Christmas and we've already preordered the R&C game. OMG they are getting wayyyyyy tooooooooo much stuff this year! The only reason they're getting it is my dh got a really good deal, better than black Friday. Next year they'll have Disney memories and hopefully KH3 will be out by then

I too like sour cream and onion and cheddar also. Like to dip plain ones in dip. I buy most of the new concoctions Ruffles has come up with in the last few years, some are so blessed awful it is difficult to swallow. When I see new ones I buy the individual bags at the gas station and we have a taste test at home. I always go back to my 3 Ruffles stand byes for the bigger bags. My favorite uses for potato chips are Ruffles Originals with either grilled cheese or Sloppy Joes.

We are like you. We try all the new chip flavours just in case. We rarely find one we like but you don't know unless you try, right?

Canada has a long history of chip flavours. I remember visiting the States as a kid and always being amazed at how few flavours there were. I noticed in recent years that this has changed.

My DD has connected the dots between her sleep pattern and the freight trains. Her apartment is very close to a crossing which is a whistle zone and a few of these engineers are beyond obnoxious with the length of their whistles at their own discretion. Our town is in the process of installing concrete road dividers so it will become whistle free. She looks forward to seeing if her sleep pattern disruptions in REM sleep alters when the state finally clears us free of whistles.
It took a good month to get used to the trains running by my house. Now after so many years I don't even pay attention to the train or whistles. The only time I notice is when they randomly start or stop on the tracks. That sounds like thunder.

True. The Mugs I bought my DD a few weeks back for her 24th birthday (can you believe that) came in a nice plastic bag. Our bags sold at TDS were more than $.75 though. I actually was going to get her one to build her re-usable collection but every stink'n one was a Princess one. DD isn't a princess gal. What the heck? I kept looking thinking their would have to be a balance for the boys....nope.

Wow, 24 already. I too know how that time flies...

Yes, we used to get all kinds of compliments about our standard plastic bags, especially during the holidays.
When I first started at The Disney Store the purchasable bags with handles were made of a more cloth-like material.
I think it was about 2 years or so later that they went to the newer, coated material.
We also used to put them on sale all the time, too. If I remember correctly, the regular price, when I left, was $3.50.
And yes, we had some bags for boys, but most were definitely geared towards the girls/women. I think they said it was because ladies were more apt to carry a bag like that, than guys. ;) :)

It's A Small World Holiday was next - I wanted to also go on it at night, to see it all lit up, but we didn't make it back. :( This is the first time I've been on the holiday version. It's definitely very festive, but I will always love the regular version more.

Just watched a beautiful Christmas movie and I thought I would share. It is the best one I have seen this season...other than the old favourites. I recorded it on Showcase (which may be a Canadian channel) but I have seen it on a lot of different channels. I would highly recommend it for that good old-fashioned Christmas feel.

Yep, from 2010. I can't even remember how many times I've watched that flick with DWifey...! ;) :)
