The next 2 posts will be pics of our hotel (the site limits us to 10 pics per post).
We stayed at El Tropicano. It was the first hotel built on the Riverwalk in 1962 (the year I was born  ;)), and was all the rage, at the time.
It's still in great shape, very retro-cool, and we loved it...! :)

The first two are the view from our room...
Actually, the first pic, and the thumbnail at the bottom of the post...

you're all lucky. I only had the opportunity of going to Disney until 2013 (disney world).
but then, I've had a great run so far.

2 WDW trips, 1 Disney Alaska Cruise, another WDW trip on my way in 20 days...
And I'm also hoping to get a cruise to the Caribbean as well.

*edit*
Fixed typo, I mean 2013.

I lost track, did you get all your days at one resort for your New Year trip?

We had to select the second option.

AKL was packed. So we went for the Old Key West DVC.
Will be only one day at the Port Orleans Riverside because we're going to arrive VERY LATE at night.
so.. the 30th we leave, hit POR, next day, we leave POR, arrive to OLD KEY WEST and then head to EPCOT for the rest of the day.

The Magic Kingdom was cool by all standards when it opened and grew a lot by the time I graduated a high school over a few years. Still I spent my young years at Disneyland and at that time WDW-MK could not compare to Disneyland though the Resorts were better at WDW back then. When we went to WDW when Epcot launched it made WDW more amazing. I had done Disneyland and WDW pretty much back to back when Epcot launched and had a clear picture of both in my head. From the time Epcot came online that is when we had started returning almost every year, when the studios opened we did. AK did nothing for us when it launched. It was hot and miserable with few attractions and vertually no air conditioning in most dining locations or stores. We were there for the Grand Opening and it was just beyond Nasty. That pushed us to Universal to spend the beginning of our vacations for a 3 or 4 days and a week at Disney. But even from young we split time at Disneyland, Universal and down to Sea World and the San Diego Zoo.

I've done that and it works well. They will just move your luggage for you. Pretty seamless.

We are like you. We try all the new chip flavours just in case. We rarely find one we like but you don't know unless you try, right?

Canada has a long history of chip flavours. I remember visiting the States as a kid and always being amazed at how few flavours there were. I noticed in recent years that this has changed.

Chip flavors have been a marketing thing with Ruffles over the last few years, I'm not seeing it catching on in this region though.

It took a good month to get used to the trains running by my house. Now after so many years I don't even pay attention to the train or whistles. The only time I notice is when they randomly start or stop on the tracks. That sounds like thunder.

We can always hear trains here but my DD is now a half block from the crossing and in a whistle zone. Big difference for her. My folks live in a whistle zone intersection and she spent a lot of time there when young but obviously she is no longer accustomed to them. I know what you mean though, that stopping during freight car releases is a very different sound as is the slamming on brakes sound. We've had a few accidents here over the last few years and the sound is chilling, ya just know what has happened.

Good morning @figmentfan423. We are on schedule this year, even with unexpected tree limb removal, and cutting the limbs to 18 inches long. The garbage people will take them away, if we do this.

18 inches. Geesh. Ours limbs need to be 4 foot or less and bundled. If we can fit them into the rolling carts for grass clippings they will take any diameter.
