Oldest GS doesn't have a clue. Youngest, wants to teach TaeKwando. He got his first degree black belt this year, at age nine. He is really good with the competition weapons! In our house, future careers at the moment are marine biologist, nurse, and ninja.
I loved that as well, those were my two favorite! The GF gingerbread house is nice, but honestly I was more impressed with the gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club. The craftsmanship on the horse was amazing.
I'm glad you brought back the alien guy. I was thinking he went to live on another planet.
True!! But if I had been a boy, I would have been expected to take over the ranch. I think it really bothers my dad that my brother has no interest in it. But I'm the non-confrontational people-pleaser. I probably would have gone along with it to keep the peace. Good thing I'm a girl so I didn't have to defy expectations. Well, at least in that way. And even though I have a university degree, I'm still a stay at home mom and only work when the kids are in school or when Mark is home, so I'm still filling the traditional role as my dad sees it.At least you weren't Catholic as becoming a nun would have also been an option
We had Trick or Treater's until 9. It was crazy busy, but fun, lots of Stars War's and different Princess's.Ha ha. At least you have a dog instead of two chicken black cats who fled to hide under the bed for the night.
Oh the joys of domestic bliss. Was home all night handing out candy to the Trick 'r Treaters. We did flee around 9, but just to get pizza. And naturally, with the World Series being on and it being Halloween, our curse remained in tact - we were the last ones in the restaurant. Argh.
Get well soon!Hello. How are you all doing on this fine evening? Fantastic. I will be lying down as I am current under the weather because this flipping weather can not make up its freaking mind!
I get that, but if that's the only child, the point of trick or treating is kind of moot if they are asleep. Then you just might as well buy them a bag of candy and get them home to bed. To me, if my child is so tired, I'm not going to drag them around just because trick or treating is what you do on Halloween. Then the kid's not having any fun and that defeats the purpose. As there were other kids, I can understand it, because you don't want to make the other kids go home when they are having fun. But maybe that's just me, because once my kid was asleep, I would consider trick or treat time over if that was my only kid.Yes but I wouldn't have cared either way. Just thinking when the kid woke up and smiled because they got candy makes me smile. That's the spirit of Halloween giving to me. Besides one never knows if it's the child's fault or another factor they were tired. To be that bothered a parent was getting candy for a child that nodded off is a ridiculous waste of time to me. Just enjoy the holiday.
As parents we've ALL had children fall asleep at an inconvenient time.
I thought that Turkey, was doing an imitation of Groucho Marx!
Have fun with your son. I loved shopping for the GS at Toys R Us. So many toys that I would have loved when I was little.Good morning everyone! Day off for me.
Settling in front of the TV as it's a big day for Canada today (but I can't talk about it here).
Then this afternoon it's my weekly special time with my little boy. I think he wants to look around Toys R Us and go to the library. So all in all, should be a great day!
Dark and rainy here and has been for three days but not too cold.
From the planet Uranus?I instantly wake up like an alien just probed my butt D:
I won't tell you I'm eating peanut butter fudge ice cream.arggh, I'm a diet.. no tempting please! D:
Unless you wanted the candy for yourself...I get that, but if that's the only child, the point of trick or treating is kind of moot if they are asleep. You are a very good daughter.Well, my dad is a product of his generation. It's the way he was taught and brought up to believe. When he starts spewing nonsense, I just bite my tongue because I know he's not going to change and he's old...I don't know how many more years I'll have him here, so I don't want to fight with him about things like that. I don't like how he thinks, but my whole childhood, I had a horrible relationship, almost NO relationship with him. Now that I'm older and have forgiven him, I won't waste the little time we have left arguing. So I try to change the subject. It's just not worth fighting about.
Be careful mix can be dangerous!Good morning, all. Late start today. It's going to be nice until the rain starts in the afternoon, then on to rain snow mix!![]()
I'm staying home tomorrow, and baking a meat loaf for hubby. Oven roasted potatoes , carrots, onions, and brussel sprouts for me! He will eat the carrots, onion, and potatoes!Be careful mix can be dangerous!
Students here are given ten absences. After the eleventh the parents receive a summons to family court to explain why so many days.Do you have regulations about that where you live? I know where I was in the States, there was no rule about it...parents took kids out for vacations all the time. But over here, you get fined if the kids miss a day when they weren't sick if you don't get permission, and you only get permission for special things like death of an immediate family member, or a big anniversary...over here,12.5 years is the first big anniversary. (10 is nothing) So we got the kids out for 2 days and had a long weekend for our 12.5 year anniversary.
Then I guess we just agree to disagree as we all have different parenting styles.I get that, but if that's the only child, the point of trick or treating is kind of moot if they are asleep. Then you just might as well buy them a bag of candy and get them home to bed.
