I do my own own dishes. And laundry. And make my own bed. (I don't even let anyone help me make my bed, as no one does it as well as I do.)I hope so. I love to cook, I hate the clean-up.

Pet peeve of my Moms too. I fixed that with my kids, we had L benches like these in the kitchen. No rock'n. I opted early on not to have a dining room table in my dining room/living room combo. I had a grand piano and a computer desk for the desktop. I could keep an eye on the kids on the computer back then or listen to my DD practice the piano. Now desk and piano are goners and my dining room is a dining room.

Downside was when they went in years ago my two golden retrievers took up residency. They'd often jockey for the window bench.
Not at all. I also liked Perry Mason, for the same reason, I was in bed when Mom and Dad watched, somehow he just lulled me to sleep, with his pleasant voice.
Those outfits made me think of these two.

Conversation with my mom:
Mom: Remember, I'm working tomorrow, so I won't see you until the afternoon.
Me: Okay, I'll make sure to clean up from the party before you get home.
Mom: Yeah, if you plan any parties for when I'm not home, at least wait until exams are over.
She only knows to say that because she knows I hate parties. I refused a graduation one and didn't go to prom, so...
The neighbor kitty-corner property behind us, famous for their all night blow out parties a few times a year called the Sheriff. DS did not share that tidbit but a neighbors son who was here Mom did. When I asked him how it went over with the Sheriff, he said all he asked was if everyone was 21+ and to take it indoors.

I much prefer Pepsi to Coke but I think Coke had the greatest commercial of all time. And wouldn't you know my favourite commercial is from the 70's.
And let's not forget the Christmas version.
Oh my goodness! Now THAT was a find!!I can't even imagine how much nicer the parks would look in that older book, without all the kiosks, etc. cluttering up the views; I'll bet there's a few benches to sit on in those photos, too?!!
Also, just the term, "coffee table book" is something I haven't heard for quite some time. I recall my mother used to always have a coffee table book displayed nicely, in the livingroom. We had a few of them with different subjects, and she'd rotate them from time to time. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I associate coffee table books with a less hectic, non-connected (i.e. electronic devices, etc.) time in my life. Nice memories . . .
