Well, I know it's still early May; and I know I'm in Canada, but it got hot (not complaining!) rather quickly. I finally relented and turned on the air.

It had been a few degrees warmer!

I am content with fans and open windows, but the menfolk like it under 80 degrees. Wimps!
We are currently at 42 and going down. I'm waiting for that horrible awful snow..ha.

We have four people living here and only 3 TVs.o_O

For some reason, my parents' room is the only bedroom that has a cable hookup. My brother's and my rooms do not. We use our laptops to watch TV in our rooms or otherwise have to watch it in the family room or basement. Usually my brother only uses the family room TV. I'm the only one who uses the basement TV other than if my brother goes down there to use the Wii.

My dad has been debating getting a new TV and Blue Ray player for the family room and moving the current family room TV to the basement, along with the PS3, and then putting the current basement TV in the exercise room.

No need for a cable hookup anymore. A lot of companies have wireless receivers now.

Having not eaten all day, Hubby and I opted for a very late lunch/very early dinner of various deli salads and hot dogs. In my case, hot dog. Singular.

View attachment 92403 The rotini salad, at the top, was surprisingly bland. The larger pasta salad at the bottom (minus the yucky black olives) had an unexpected kick.
Eat the chick pea salad first; smoosh the two pasta salads together ... perfection!

My hot dog, with tangy dill relish; proving once again, that I DO NOT add ketchup to everything:

With milk, of course.

Never met someone who likes milk so much except for my 2 year old. And I mean that as a compliment.

I think one positive is the fact it has been almost impossible for new teachers to find a job around here. My niece has been a sub for four years because there aren't any positions open.

Many have to relocate to get there foot in a door. Some areas of the country are begging for teachers and others have so many, we had 200 applications for one first grade position. Still in some areas of central and southern IL, they are looking for the young teachers. Golden Apple wanted to place my DD in the South and it would have likely been rural Mississippi. She ultimately waved off Golden Apple because she feared where they would assign her.

Also it depends on how careful they were as College Students. There are certain areas of focus, major or endorsements that need to be filled and teachers are hard to come by. High School Math teachers, Special Ed-Reading at all levels, Industrial Tech, Family and Consumer Science. English and History along with PE teachers will have a tougher time as will Primary and Elementary Teachers, the system is flooded with way too many new applicants.

But then there is NYC, teachers walked out or retired in droves this year.

I spray Bactine on just about every bite, cut or scrape I get. Sunburn too.
Once it has dried, I either re-apply or switch to Polysporin.

I don't jump around, flinch, and act like a fool like some people ... looking at you Hubby.
Plus the smell takes me back to my childhood. (Just the scent of Bactine tells my boo boo it's better.) Bactine and Ozonol cured everything back then.

And Noxzema. Forgot about Noxzema.

And, ice cream... ;)

Had lunch today at Five Guys. Got a bacon cheese burger (with grilled onions, ketchup, and mayo), hubby and I shared some fries, and I treated myself to a Diet Coke. I rarely drink soda, I usually only get it at Disney or when I'm on vacation somewhere. Anyway the meal was great, and we ate it outside in pleasant 68 degree weather!
