Sorry Jennifer, I'm not able to process what I read as well as I should have. Anyway, you are so sweet to take care of Gen. Are you a nurse? Or like my sister...nothing phases her. She got the genes that passed me by. sadly, I'm an old softie and always will be...except when you get my "dander" up. Like my dad I have a long fuse, but once I get going, it's hard to shut me up. To anyone in this blog I apologize, I'm trying to "stay in my box", as my more seasoned husband says. Wise words of wisdom, being in my parent's home and children were to be quiet, and not heard from. I'm letting it all out now. Better, late than never. Or maybe not. Sorry

Speaking for myself, your comments and thoughts are just as appreciated and welcomed as anybody else's here, Bets...! :)

Had lunch today at Five Guys. Got a bacon cheese burger (with grilled onions, ketchup, and mayo), hubby and I shared some fries, and I treated myself to a Diet Coke. I rarely drink soda, I usually only get it at Disney or when I'm on vacation somewhere. Anyway the meal was great, and we ate it outside in pleasant 68 degree weather!

We also had breakfast at Mickey's Dining Car in St. Paul. If you have ever seen the first Mighty Ducks movie or the Jingle All the Way movie it is featured in those. And it has been on some food network specials.... Anyway, we had ham and cheese omelets (which are light and airy), bacon, toast, and house made hash browns. It was also delicious. I will have to go back to eating sensibly on Monday. Tomorrow we are celebrating burger month again, hubby is making some sort of Asian inspired burger.

Here's breakfast...

Yeah ... you seem to eat out as much as I do, but catch a lot less grief for it.

It must be because I'm Canadian, eh!

ETA : Enjoy!

Yea, I don't know. It seems to come, maybe, more in spurts for us...? But, we're definitely not goin' out again until next weekend.
And, you're definitely not gonna' catch any grief from me. Frankly, I wish y'all went out to eat every night for your great food pics...! :hungry: ;) :)

Tell them I'm sorry, I don't know them, but I understand how they feel. When you have a lot of years under your belt, a lot of loss happened. My Mom and Dad was "old" when I was born...I can relate to a generation older than me...I sometimes think I should be near 80 instead of 70, as I lived a very sheltered life. Not in all respects, as far as living on the farm, moving into town..and growing up fast for the time. My brother, (who was most like my temperament) died when he was 44 due to heart disease. I try to think of every day as my last. I try to find the humor in life, in difficult circumstances, as that makes me feel better. So, sometimes, if I seem callous in my "stories", it's my way of coping. Everyone has their way of course, laughter seems to work for me.

No worries, Bets.
Yep, life's a crazy thing, and if ya' don't learn role with it and laugh, especially at ones self, it can be miserable. I choose to laugh, especially at myself...! :)
