Some European countries - especially those that work less hours/day, less days/year - are bankrupt, required billions and billions of dollars in bailouts.

Reminds me of a line from "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead": We get up at twelve, start to work at one. Take an hour for lunch, and then at two we're done ....

So, perhaps there is a happy medium somewhere.
(And no, I don't mean that Long Island gal with big hair.)

The same way all the others have been treated .
The dentist freezes the area (areas in my case), drills a little bit, and then fills it with white composite filling.
And then, with one eyebrow raised, gently lectures me about brushing less often, and less aggressively.

I might need that someday, funnily, I only have one teeth with abrasion in the gums.. not fun

I have gone to a new dentist and he says not to do anything to fill in that I could do more harm than good. Now I am considering getting a second opinion because I am afraid of what can happen if left untreated.

My dentist likes to wait until they reach a certain stage.
Each time, an abrasion is repaired, you lose a little bit of healthy tooth surface.

Once they get to the point that the structure of the tooth is compromised, or it becomes a permanent "poppy seed catcher", you need to get it fixed.
I believe I've already had 5 or 6 repaired, and now 2 more. One of them, however, may be a repeat offender.

See how clear the sidewalk is - that's because Hubby had to get up and shovel!
Supposed to snow all day and I have a dentist app't. Oh, happy day.

He missed a few spots on the sidewalk ( ), but not bad for the first snow of winter. If he practices, his snow shovelling will be as perfect as mine! (Yes, I love shovelling snow; I'm always the first one out on my street to shovel the steps.)

Thinking of @akayw0718 as it is the anniversary of the mega tornadoes. A year ago today they ripped through Illinois through her home town, passing right 'over' vs through my DD University, her in some very old library basement and tornadoes moving up the state continuing the destruction. Some families have moved back while others are still attempting to rebuild. All still in my prayers.

Wow. I'm not familiar with the member you referenced, but I hope her area has rebuilt itself. That was very sad about the tornadoes.

I dropped a hockey stick (don't ask) on my big toe about half an hour ago.
It really hurts.
So far, I am too afraid to take off my sock and inspect the damage.

Same foot (right) as my most recent injury.
The summer's two injuries were both on the left foot.

Dang, I think I need to get back to work. Apparently my home is not safe for me.

Maybe @FutureCEO is right, we are living in the wrong country. Europe averages 25-30 vacation days a year and use them. In the US we average 15 however most don't even use them all as many are afraid to be away from their jobs that long.

They use very strong chemicals to disinfect.. specially if theres a quarantine going on.

plus, when you're getting chemo and radiation.. you lose the taste to certain things and most stuff taste metallic.

Yep, they do but they put those chemicals in your food?

Always in a big, rented hall. We all show up for setup, and all stay for cleanup.

Oy. To have family that knew how to hold up their end and participate.

Lands End is where I find my swimsuits off season. Actually, in season as well as I know the size and style that pretty much works on me, (halter tankini with a skirty bottom, but I digress)

Since my 30's all my suits came from Lands End. As a Mom taking kids to pools, vacations etc, LE suits cover areas that should be covered.

My current LE has that skort skirty thing, my other one the top looks similar to a ladies running shirt and has pantie/short legs similar to womens running shorts. I love all the two piece choices that mix and match that cover things that should be covered by my age.

Giggle. When I was a surveyor, I had 4 weeks vacation, 2 weeks of sick days, and 5 personal days and fully funded health and life insurance. I worked for an American Division of a German company. Benefits were great but nothing like being the only women surveyor in a field that is overwhelmingly male let alone working for a Old World German company. Trade-offs.

Well he is an adolescent. And an adolescent boy. Something we gals can't always wrap our brains around, we are just wired differently. I have a sister, no brothers having a son took several years to come to the realization the boys march to a different thought process.

I was scared of kickball. I felt too much pressure to perform. I did like dodgeball.

I liked dodgeball too but I was at a disadvantage. I was tiny and thin. My Uniform in 1st grade I swam in it was so big. My Gran had to tear it apart and remake it as I was still in toddler clothes the next few years of school. I was an easy mark in dodgeball to 'take out' of the game. Kickball was more skill, I had that.

In my very young years I lived in Chicago, our home next to my Gran and Aunt in a two flat with my Aunt and Uncle, my two cousins that were boys, we were all born in about a 3 year span. Being the youngest of the three I spent my early years playing like a guy. My folks pretty much had to move from the neighborhood we were in (I was snatched up by a local punky gang and told to tell my folks we didn't belong here anymore and to move), the For Sale sign was in the ground 48 hours later and we moved out to the suburbs onto a block with 4 boys my age and zip girls. My Destiny, I grew up a Tomboy. But because of my experience in the City my Dad a Construction Worker by day and a Judo instructor the rest of the time took me and my Sis multiple times a week to Judo where he taught at the YMCA, the other days he taught we were in the pool swimming in the evenings.

I was not afraid of any stink'n kickball. The nuns I had a healthy fear of.

It was not long ago we as a nation were pretty much in the same boat, Zero down home loans, were still dealing with foreclosures, banks were failing and being taken over by the Feds-Government had to bail them out, our Auto industry was beyond jiggly, unemployement was at record levels, no construction, states not paying their bills, federal bailouts galore. I can't cast any stones at Europe as I live in a glass house.
