Hmpf. Mickey's candles may keep him warm but he better share some of them tomorrow with My DD as she will not have as many candles on her cake tomorrow as Mickey does and he has a fur coat. Brrrrrr

Oh my! I did not remember that!
A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her...!!! :joyfull: :)

ETA:
And, that was the closest I could get to the official WDW colors...
Lavender, pumpkin orange, lagoon blue, and mint green. :D ;) :)

Every other word that comes out of my wife's mouth is "I can find it cheaper on amazon". On the shorts issue it was, "Why didn't I just buy one in every size, it's not like there wasn't going to be a warm day."

I think I would like your wife.
Kinda glad we're not flying into Buffalo tomorrow.
77 cm (that's 2 and 1/2 feet! to you) of lake-effect snow expected by tomorrow.

Can you say, PASS?!

OK, next up time to check on my friend from Buffalo.

We have had light snow since Saturday afternoon and it has not stopped, high winds, this afternoon it was blowing completely sideways. Joy Joy Tomorrow my DD and I will drive to the other side of Ohare if the weather is clear.
She has to obtain a completely new wardrobe for work and she will purchase things with rings on her fingers and bells on her toes. We would have gone downtown for her Birthday but the weather isn't cooperating at all.

Without an official "ride buddy" this trip, I lament the attractions I did not get to ride.

In descending order:
Splash Mountain
Expedition Everest
Big Thunder Mountain
Swiss Family Treehouse (nobody, other than me, wanted to do all the stairs)

And sadly, I did not ride these enough:
Rock'n Roller Coaster - 1x (by myself)
Space Mountain - 2x
Tower of Terror - 4x (but 3 of them were by myself)
Dinosaur - 1x
Test Track - 1x (but given the carppy refurb, that was actually one time too many)

Our experience up here was very different.
Our banking industry is dominated by the "Big 5" - some of the richest, most stable banks in the world.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Five_(banks)

While the Feds had briefly loosened mortgage lending rules, when things started to tank, they tightened things up. Pronto. Multiple times.
http://www.cba.ca/en/media-room/50-...issues/657-changes-to-canadas-mortgage-market

And then, once buyers have satisfied the gov't requirements, they must meet the requirements of the individual lenders, and then again, the seemingly arbitrary rules of the underwriter.

While these rule changes made it a little harder (okay, a LOT harder) for Purchasers to qualify for mortgages, which is bad for my industry; our foreclosure rate is less than 1/10 of that in the U.S., which is good for my business. I feel good when sitting down with Purchasers, pre-approval in hand, that they can legitimately afford the home I am selling them.
It also means that the deal will actually close, and that I will get paid. 'Cause for me, that's the bottom line.

Yea, funny how, back in the day, makin' sure ya' could actually afford a home before ya' bought it was just so darn stooooopid. You, know, "creative" financing, and all.

Last year half the lights on our prelit tree burned out a few days before Christmas. The only ones extra we had were orange Halloween ones so we had a half orange tree. It was unique. :)

I had the tree at the back of the property top half burn out last year. I dutifully replaced the string, $55 dollar later (solar) I waited for nightfall. Top vanilla white, bottom bright white. Bugged me the rest of the season. :cautious:

Back from the dentist's. Nothing beats that freshly cleaned feeling.

Did NOT like the new hygenist. I have snippy, know-it-all, young-uns at home. I don't need to pay someone to berate me.
- If I say that Sensodyne doesn't always work for me, then that's my expetience. I don't care about the "general population".
- If I already admit that my gum recession is due to decades of overly-aggressive brushing, don't lecture me.
- If I tell you that I ALWAYS use soft or extra-soft toothbrushes, don't tell me that I need to.

And for Pete's sake, don't sing along with the radio, mere inches from my ear.
Maybe G. forgot to tell her that I don't like music. ;)
When I book for my 6-month recall and cleaning, I am going to request my regular girl, Brenda.
I have been going to the same dental office since I was 9. I suspect they will accomodate me.

Anyway, heading back there tomorrow, because I have to have two more buccal abrasions filled (gumline abrasions caused by overly aggressive brushing).

Upon reading, I think this post sounds kind of cranky.
Think I may need more coffee. And a nap. In that order.

Nope not cranky. There are great hygienists and bad ones and it generally has nothing to do with skill more the general lack of common business sense, maturity and working brain cells. The bad ones would be abrasive no matter what profession they were in. We would normally just put them in their place however they have their hands in our mouths giving the bad ones a free soap box.

Can you tell I've been there too?

My DS at lunch played Wall Ball with a Tennis Ball. Person against the wall was the target.
Wall ball was different here.

The girls (almost never the guys) would line up, one behind the other. The first girl would throw the ball (usually one of those red and blue rubber ones) high against the wall, and jump it as it descended. Each girl down the line also had to jump it in succession. First person in line to miss it had to go to the back of the line.

If you could find your rhythm quickly, it was best to be first. That way you could jump the ball on the way down before the first bounce.

I used to practise for hours at Baba and Dida's - they had a flat brick on their house, a relatively smooth driveway, and the side wall of the neighbour's house had windows conveniently placed out of the way of any errant bounces.
