To each their own but for me quality is way more important than quantity. After seeing my mother's horrible and slow decline I plan to check out a bit early while things are still good and I leave this earth how, where and when I want to.
I think all of us can agree on that. I know of no one that wants to live forever regardless of their physical condition. Especially those that have been lucky enough to not be struck with Dementia or Alzheimer's. Then their individual condition is quite obvious to them and the loss of ability can weigh heavily on a person that was once very much in charge of their lives. A life where they were the gardeners and not just the flowers. In my opinion, none of us know how we will deal with old age until we get there. I've found that a whole bunch of things are suddenly out of our control.
