They have a bunch of these classic cars on one side of the entrance area of the hotel. I took a picture of the wagon because it had “antique” luggage. I think that aside from the modern conveniences you are supposed to feel like you are in the late 50’s early 60’s? All the music played in the hotel(not pool area) is early 60’s.

Boy howdy, as you know, I LUVS the mid- century modern thing...!!!!! :)
No eras are what they’re cracked up to be, but, I just REALLY love the style from that time...Cool is just COOL...!!!!!

When I looked at the 10-day forecast yesterday it showed we’d be in the upper ‘90’s with triple digit heat indices for that timeframe up here. Not sure about Houston.
It was as predicted earlier, but, this was the weather when I left the office an hour late because of a morning deadline...

No clue why they’re showin’ sunny, as it was 100% overcast with an occasional light sprinkle...!!!!! :hilarious:

This was our weather yesterday shortly after 6p...

On my list!! 😉

The Mitsukoshi Dept. Store has always had unique merchandise. It's always been my favorite shop at EPCOT. (I tend to gravitate more toward the Japanese traditional items like their chopsticks with the beautiful designs, and their "different" kinds of candy, etc.) Sometimes, I like their t-shirts with creative patterns, (but not the Japanese anime, as I'm not into their cartoon art -- although, it does have its own huge fan base). Apparently, those are big sellers.

Some of the Kimono robes are gorgeous. Yup, I like puttering around in that store. Although I preferred the softer lighting/atmosphere prior to its redesign (over the past 2 years or thereabouts), it's still my favorite shop.

Yogurt is easy! Heat "milk", cook milk, put in maker, add cultures, close lid and forget about it for several hours. By making my own I can make sure everything in it is both tasty and healthy;)

Easy, tasty and healthy, too! :joyfull: (P.S.: This is my solution, but I know that you're allergic to milk, so I guess you have to use an alternative, and that's why you make it. I think there's also premade, non-milk ones in the grocery store, if you look around.)

Looks like a good thing we didn’t push the trip back to Labor Day - the storm seems to have changed paths to come this way at that time.

That would also mean sparing us back home if the current track holds.

Yes, I was thinking of you yesterday when I was reading the hurricane thread (N&R). Glad you got in your trip before any of that, and I'm glad that you went, period!! I know it was touch and go there for a while, but so happy that the two of you could relax and unwind, and get away from things for a while. :)

Is this relaxing?! 🤪

Seriously, it’s a great mental break. And I’ve been 90% avoiding work. Missing my puppy. Several WDWMAGIC meet ups! It will be nice if Brian gets an offer, but this sure beats sitting around waiting at home!

But the more I hear about Star Wars, the more I lean towards avoiding all that stress and disappointment tomorrow, and just enjoying F&W before heading home in the afternoon.

Switching to CBR today!

I noticed that too, which is disappointing because meat alternatives aren't really my jam. Would definitely prefer a good black bean burger
I think these meat alternatives are geared toward people who like meat but may want to eat less of it but not feel like they are. I don’t know, but if I wanted to eat meat I would. I don’t and I would prefer an actual veggie/bean burger.

Great pics, thanks for sharing...!!!!! :)

Still love those classic cars at Cabana Bay...!!!!!
Do you know if they still run, they drive them around to keep them in good running condition from time to time, etc., or are they just props...the “Please Do Not Touch This Car” sign seems to indicate they may be owned by others, and are possibly rotated from time to time...? :)
They are the same cars since the resort opened. I saw them in resort videos as well. I guess Uni owns them or Loews Hotels. I love this resort.
