I disagree, its all dependent on the cruise line.

Most charge you per room then add a fee for every additional member.
I do not think that Disney will be "generous" to just slap a single fee for the entire thing for who knows how many people.
My bet is that the per person fee will be between 25% to 50% of the price ticket after the first couple.
And enforcing very tight maximum room capacity fees.
When we did the cruise line, we needed 2 rooms. We were charged the adult fee for one of the kids. Then the others were discounted. So we had 4 adult fees and 2 discounted.

Thanks for all of the input on this Disney family drama.

Here’s the newest-

Sister stayed at AKL last time.

Growing up we always stayed at the monorail resorts.

Now, sister decided that she doesn’t want to pay for the monorail resort. Parents are paying for everyone’s tickets/food/transportation, sister and bro in law are paying for their own room, probably because this isn’t really a family vacation as me and my brother are not going.
So anyway, now she convinced my mom to switch to AoA family suites, on a recommendation from a coworker. She thinks it will be fine with the new transportation, and that the kids will like it.

My dad has a hard time walking and refuses scooters. Isn’t AoA a large resort? I thought I’ve read that you walk a mile to your room..and there’s not a sit down restaurant. This is a 7 night trip, not a 1 or 2 night. I think it sounds like a horrible idea.

We loved AoA but it is a LOT of walking. Like... a LOT. The best you could hope for is a room request for one of the closer buildings, but even then it's a LOT of walking. Consider too that ALL the bus stops are way out in Narnia. The walking at the resort itself wouldn't be so bad if you were able to get a room close to the lobby, but he's going to be hurting just getting to and from the bus stops.

Yet another FP question. I hear you folks talking about finding openings and switching one FP for a different one. How do you even get access to availability when after you have chosen three you can no longer see what else is available? Is it done with the Disney Magic I've heard so much about?

You pick whichever fast pass you would want to trade in, and select "edit" and all the available fastpasses will display. You don't lose your current one until after you confirm a new one, so you can play around with it without selecting anything.

Huh?

You quoted me. I compared both Star Wars and Cruises being somewhat equal. Your quote didn't make sense questioning StarWars being actually being inclusive which appears you are questioning what Disney released. I questioned your comment? I believed both StarWars Resort and Cruises were equally inclusive. Your response put that into question. Go back and read your post and how you question Disney statement on cost going down with more guests in one room lowered cost per person.
First, calm down.
re-read your own comment and your own wording. I was never meant to antagonize yet yours sounds like an attack. Like somehow I'm dumb, I'm not understanding or somehow you took my reply as an attack which wasn't..

As for prices..
Almost all sites I've seen mention this.
According to news out of D23, a cabin on the Star Cruiser, which sleeps five, starts at $3,300. Disney has yet to announce an official opening date for the hotel.

Note the "STARTS". Since this will behave like a CRUISE. Then we can easily extrapolate that the 3,300 is STARTING price point for the basic package with maybe 2 people at most. and then additional people will be charged a smaller fee on top.

Also my comment had nothing to do with this that you started to babble about.

The food is no longer included, it is an upcharge? The shows are an upcharge now?
Coffee in the morning is an upcharge? The Cruise experience no longer includes Trivia, pool games, big-screen movies, dance classes and sports deck activities -- such as basketball, rock climbing, mini-golf, ropes courses and shuffleboard are add ons? The Fitness center now charges vs being inclusive? Kids clubs are no longer inclusive?
This is the reason I said WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Because I never mentioned anything of that.

Yeah, that was sort of my point. It entirely depends on the Cruise and the plan.
But most had a fixed fee per person.
RCCL for example... seem to always charge 2 adults people by default if I remember correctly.
Disney (when I went back then) also had the price marked for 2 people. The rest were added on top.

I have to share with everyone a lame joke I made this past weekend.

Enjoy.

----

[Scene - in the car, talking with the hubs about my friend's plans that weekend]

Me: So, she (the friend) is going to a Backstreet Boy's concert.

Hubs: Huh. I guess that is cool.

Me: Yeah, Backstreet's Back, Alright!

Hubs: .....

.....

Get out of the car.

Make sure you’ve downloaded the My Disney Experience app to your phone. From there, you can see your room and dining reservations, make dining reservations, see FP wait times, etc. You can make other FP cancellations and choose new ones there too. It is a great app to help with your trip.

Every cruise I’ve been on was always double occupancy- 2 adults, regardless of actual age of 2nd passenger. All Inclusive resorts are the same way. We went to a Beaches resort when T was 3 years old, he was charged as an adult. 🙄

This is my concern with my dad. My sister thinks it will be fun with the new gondolas.. but I think my dad will be in too much pain after a day at the parks.
If she doesn’t want to pay for Poly then they should do a standard room at Wilderness Lodge or an Epcot resort.. there can’t be much of a price difference between a family suite and a regular room at any of those.

What should really happen IMHO is he should swallow pride and rent an ECV... they really are a godsend!
