Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
I didn't say all millennial are pieces of work, just my stepsons. And please don't mistake, I love them to pieces... but one thinks a part time job at a laundry mat is a career, and the other thinks being a pothead is fun, and changes jobs more than he changes underwear because he has not got the concept that it's very rare that you are going to find a job that you love. A job for most people is means to an end, and only the very lucky few get to do what they love or are passionate about. I'm hoping one day he will realize what he loves to do, needs certification and go to school. The laundry mat kid... well he got married this spring, and his wife will be the one that carries the financials in their relationship. I just hope she doesn't get sick of him not pulling his weight in the money department. Also, this is not how we raised them (or I have to believe their mom didn't raise them like this either, as she was hard working when she lived here) So, I'm not quite sure what went wrong, but I do know from what the youngest has told us... that they filled their heads in school with this, "don't settle for a job unless you love it" garbage. So putting a little blame on the schools for not setting realistic life expectations.

I have other thoughts, but I need to get on the road for work... (at the same place every day for the last 17 years...)

Me it is the the slam on the Millennial's as a group of adults, whether that is the first half or the second half being better or worse. Pinning an entire generation continuously is difficult to endure as a parent of two of them. Me, I take a lot of credit and pride for raising two very productive members of society from that blackballed Millennial generation. No matter how they succeed many will continue to disparage them. Uncalled for. Individual cases are on the parents and their spawns, the individuals and the circumstances they were born into.

There is a history of people who raise their children to embrace education and a history to reject education as bad. A history to believe a lack of formal education is better for their spawn. Each family decides this for themselves as do their children. It is a pattern. Formal educated parents tend to provide same for their children. Non formal education statistically tend not to formally provide higher education to their children. Me I was raised in a family that believed the better educated formally the more likely one was to succeed, but my Mom was a Certified Teacher that went through the process of becoming educated in her field she didn't take short cuts and pronounce herself a teacher. Some believe shortcuts are a better route for themselves and kids. To each their own on how they decide their own paths.

Been busy and tired. By the time I return the trailer at 9:30AM, we’ll have everything moved out of the old store. Just have to go back to clean/spackle/paint.

And finish setting up the new store. Still waiting on ppwk for the license, but we are about halfway set up. Lots of little things to do. As you guys know better than most, details matter.

So far, not looking great with the landlords/deposit. Don’t even want to get into it until I know more. There’s an email from them I’ll need to read tomorrow.
Uh oh. Hope it all works out.

And you are entitled to your opinion, and I have mine. No one is right, no one is wrong.

I had Sling temporarily, it was cheaper than FUBOTV.. but I had to go back from to FUBOTV after about 2 months.

The streaming services are getting out of hand. Currently I have FUBOTV, ESPN+, and Netflix.. plus I have the highest cable package- required if I want ESPN2 and FoxSportsOhio, and a few others.

It’s such a waste. I rarely even watch tv outside of sports or cable news. T enjoys American Ninja Warrior and America’s Got Talent. Netflix is only used occasionally. Yet there’s nothing I can cut and still get those few programs.

Oh, and I do Amazon when The Man in the High Castle is in season, but I don’t keep it full time.

My sister got Netflix with her cable package. I got a passcode. Yeah, but so far I've watched two episodes of the Crown. So good but then again maybe I'm biased.

As a full time resident of the "south" I have a secret that I must keep from the population. I don't like biscuits. My Grandson who was moved here when he was 7 loves biscuits. You cannot give him enough of them. I guess hate is a pretty strong word, I will eat a small amount, but, for some reason, no matter who made them they just seem so dry and then, probably in my imagination, I have a hard time swallowing them. It feels like they are getting stuck in my throat.

Let me go on record now saying that this is the first confession of this type I have ever issued. I'm sure my reputation is ruined. Up until now you thought that I only hated kale. Don't tell anyone please. I don't want to be forced to move back where I came from. The cold, cold north. (usually) 🤫😬😮🤐

P.S. I love all types of gravy though and I don't care what you combine with it. (except kale)

Hahaaa...!!!!! :hilarious:
These biscuits were perfectly moist and flakey, and were almost like swallowing cake...!!!!! :hungry:
But, I have had what you described before. The biscuits need to be done right...!!! :)
