Deja vu here . . . reminded me of my father when I saw that plate. Not so much the exact selection of food items, but that the plate had no presentation value. ;) You see, my father always said that he loved "messy" looking-meals on his plate!! He insisted they tasted better?! What can I say? We all have our "thing"!!! :joyfull:

Hahaaa...!!!!! :hilarious:
My pop is still the same way...!!! :)
Pretty sure your pop and mine woulda’ been good buddies...!!!!!

No, I was in College before I ever stepped foot on a plane. The reason was that my father was an airplane mechanic in WWII and he never in his life of 74 years set foot on an airplane other then to fix them. All I ever heard from him was "I know what can go wrong with them". So if he couldn't drive there, he basically didn't need to go.

However, having had that stamped into my brain from my early years, I was quite alert when I was flying places. I know from photo's that in the early days of commercial passenger flight, it was all very formal, but, then again most of the people that flew were elite, status seeking people that wanted to out do their neighbors by purchases, clothing and activities. I had heard about the semi-formal wear but, flying was uncomfortable enough without also being uncomfortable in our personal attire. We didn't fly in ragged clothes or unwashed, but, from the first day I was on a plane clear through to the most recent time in November of 2015 no one was worried about dress codes.

Yep, anything can happen at any given time, in any kinda’ plane. Everything from a pilot pushing the plane too hard and it stalling to engine/system failures, etc.
It’s impossible to aerodynamically stall a car, and if the engine craps out on you, you generally, just pull off the road...aircraft are, obviously, a bit different. ;)
Still, I have never been afraid of flying. I have loved and read about aircraft from the time I was a young child. It has always fascinated me...!!!!!

We were definitely never rich or trying to outdo our neighbors, thus the purchase of the un-A/C’d camper and road trips to and from Texas in the sweltering Southwest heat for the next 5 summers until we moved back to Texas.
I just remember totally enjoyin’ the whole flyin’ experience when we were doin’ it though...decked out in my spiffy duds, gettin’ my metal wings, lovin’ my Chicken a la King lunch/dinner, etc....!!!!! :hilarious::hungry:;)

The last time we flew to Texas from No Cal was in 1970, so that was the last time I ever dressed like that to fly.
The next time I flew wasn’t ‘til 1981.
I flew out to the east coast that summer to hang out with my best bud and his buds at a house in Seaside Heights NJ for a week...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
I flew in tennis shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt on that trip, and every trip I can think of since.
Again, it was just a different time way back when, and our folks thought we should be attired appropriately when we flew...no wrong, no right...!!! :)

Okay.... I'm thinking about switching our annual visits to January instead of September. It's still a low crowd time and we can still stay in SoG. But I cannot swing a week at Disney in September this year and then another week in January in 2020. I was thinking about taking a quick four day in April/May 2020 and staying in a regular Disney hotel with some bells and whistles, and then taking a week long trip in January 2021 with APs again that will last until Jan 2022.

For a quick four day, where would you stay? She loves AoA, Pop is also an option (both will have the skyliner which is attractive). Maybe Riverside? I HAAAAATE going to Disney Springs so the boat over there isn't really a "plus" but it's pretty.
I sat Riverside or French Qtr. Both are great places!

My Mom still tells a story of me sitting on the front sidewalk looking a cute little caterpillar near me. She says I snatched it up and swallowed it. :grumpy:
I am not surprised about that. My mom has her share of stories about my younger brother and I. have no memories of the stuff she tells stories about because of how young I was. The same is true with my younger brother.
