Even as old as I am, I remember those ice cream cups and tiny wooden spoons when I was a youngster. I'll bet that those spoons were soaked in some chemical that causes aging. I know that it is really starting to show up with me! There was a Hoods Dairy in our town and I had a close friend whose father worked there. I was in high school by then so it would have been extremely uncool to be eating Ice Cream with a bowtie spoon. It was alright to have some real fresh chocolate milk though. That was cool.... maybe!Very cool. Some great memories there.
It was your comment about the fire trucks that reminded me of when I was a kid, and our town had a 4th of July parade. We loved the fire trucks, because the firemen would throw Hoodsie ice cream cups to the kids! These ice cream cups (from Hood, a local dairy company) had a little wooden spoon inside -- it was oddly shaped, but I'd always manage to get all the ice cream out of the little cup!
