In the "too much information" department, it has happened. I am officially in colonoscopy starvation mode for the procedure on Friday morning.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is going to be totally awful, but one day of GRRRRRRR is clearly better than colon cancer. I did it last year and they found and removed four pre-cancerous polyps, which is why I have to do it again.

This is a public service announcement to all of you who are 50 or older. JUST DO IT. The procedure sounds horrifying, but they knock you out, and you don't even know that it happened.

The only issue is the "prep" and the starvation, but it's just 24 hours. If I can do this, anyone can.

Also, this getting old garbage sucks.

Buddy, I remember your angst last year, too, about this procedure. ;) But, happy to say, you survived it!! And you'll be fine this time, too. :)

I had it done about 3 weeks ago, and as everyone agrees, drinking that prep solution is the worst, the day before. Just keep around things like yellow Gatorade, and lemon jello. Some docs let you also have lemon popsicles, but again, do what they tell you and be very careful about darker colored dyes like cherry, for example--avoid.

Anyway, got it over with and 2 pre-cancerous polyps were removed. This was the third time in maybe 20 years that I had the test. (My mother had colon cancer. So with the recent test, they have now put me on a 5-year recall.)

Mine’s kind of nuts. Kept my Dad away after the divorce (age 4) but then called him to “talk some sense into me” when my honor roll nerd self was “out of control.” (Age 17.)

The result of that meeting was him telling me I wasn’t messed up; I was in a messed up house. He offered to take me in. Before I had a chance to even consider, she threw me out for entertaining considering it at all.

Adding: “You have one hour to pack whatever you paid for and get out - in garbage bags because that’s what you are.”

Good times.

But, a lifetime ago. What doesn’t kill you...
Well now, she sounds lovely! I'm sorry you went through that, but you seem to have risen above your raisin', so good for you!

In other news, my bathroom is getting redone starting while I'm in Hawaii. We moved basically everything out of there. There's just a few things that will get moved to my parents' bathroom after they leave.

I think it's throwing Belle off. She's been super clingy recently. This morning I woke up and she was on top of me. No idea how I was sleeping through ten pounds of cat on me, but I was. Then she was evidently meowing for me earlier. My mom told her to go find Jasmine. That's what she did; they evidently napped on my bed and Belle calmed right down. It doesn't help that we've had an ant problem and I'm not letting her eat in my room for now.

We're getting ours redone too and it's definitely thrown off the dog!!

Man, 50.

Older than Disney World.

Anyhoo, not all polyps are pre-cancerous, are they?

Blurg. I feel so badly for your kids. I also feel for Southwest. They were hit so hard with the grounding of the 737's. So not their fault, Boeing yes. They have next to nothing in back up planes given the backups. We have not been flying Southwest in recent months only because of the situation beyond their own control They had the largest fleet of these planes. Doesn't help the situation but an innocent bystander can look objectively at the straight jacket SW is in. So we are opting not to fly with them until it is resolved.
I did not know that about the planes. Thanks for the info!

Oh my!!! Too funny how I just mentioned the PCH two posts up...!!!!! :hilarious:
Drivin’ the PCH is cool cool enough in a car (especially a convertible ;)), but, would be AWESOME on a bike...!!!!!!!
Haha we have driven it once by car. It is cool!! Loved that little place where all the sea lions were lying on the beach. Morro Bay also was our favorite!
If he puts any pictures up, I will put one up for you to see. I’m sure he will have fun. 😉
