That looks like a fun place! :D Makes me think of that expression, "everything is bigger in Texas"! Question: I noticed at the Texas Round Up section, all the men had hats on (inside the building). Is that common down there? Just general curiosity only, as I'm used to seeing men take off their hats when they enter a building, unless they're just running inside for a minute to pick up a quick item. (Then again, maybe it was part of the "uniform" for these men working at the round-up.)

Yep, standard ‘round these parts to remove hats when entering certain buildings, but, part of a “costume/uniform” (like with Disney ;)) required...!!!!! :)

I thought service dogs were not supposed to be petted, or is that just when they are being trained?
We met a family from Germany who had several service animals. One was an alert animal for their child with diabetes, and the other two were for the mother's asthma. The older one was training the younger one. We were allowed to pet them. Basically, they just signalled the dogs that they were on a break, and they were like regular dogs, perfectly happy to have the attention.

It's when they're working and you don't have the owner's permission that you shouldn't pet them.

A fiend of mine in an electric wheelchair because of war injuries when asked he if his Pup can be petted usually says yes. Asking is always proper. Some harnesses state do not pet. So yep don’t pet them. But most service dog owners allow their Pups a break. If that is to meet other humans or play fetch. Orange county sheriff at the Studios gives his guy a break out front with a tennis ball. He has been seen allowing young guests to toss the ball.

Some people won’t even stay in the same building with a dog. Sometimes introducing skeptical people to the best trained animals is a service of educating the community at large. It likely did those guests in the queue a world of good to see Disney’s acceptance and love for service animals along with a nice gesture by the CM.

ultimately is up to the Pups owner when to allow the Pup to stand down from working. At Disney hotels for all Dog owners they are told not to allow Dogs to approach other guests. Still guests may ask to approach dogs and pet with owners permission. Mutual respect

Following Motzart on Instagram is a learning tool. He belongs to a CM and goes to work with her daily.

Boy howdy, did I ever do my good deed for the day earlier...
I found a wallet in the parking lot of our corner store with over $300 cash in it...!!!!! :greedy:
Just as I was giving it to the clerk for safekeeping (I’ve known this guy long enough to trust him), the guy who lost it came back to claim it (the ID in the wallet was definitely a pic of him). He was so grateful he offered me $20, but, I kindly told him that wasn’t necessary, and didn’t take the money...!!!!!!! :angelic::happy:;):)

Thank you for being a good human =D

Did I share the good deals gotten at the Disney Character Outlet? Got a bag for oldest, a hoodie for me, and a tee for oldest. The price of the bag was $35 from $75. The hoodie was $18 from $60, the tee was $13 from $30. Since I had been on DCL before, I felt like I wasn’t “cheating” buying it. 😉

Sweet!!!!! :)

Earlier today we actually met Emy and the kiddos at our outlet mall Disney Store...!!!!! :)
We bought a Minnie Mouse towel for Emy (no pics, as oldest DD has it)...!!!
My old SM for most of my time at the now closed mall store has been the SM there since about a year before I left. She traded places with the SM there that retired shortly after I left.
That store has always done, at least, twice the numbers ours did, so, just another way you could see the writing on the wall...!!! ;)
Have not been there in forever, and she had today off, so I was not able to say hi, but, I talked to the ASM and asked her to tell her I came by...!!! :)
Also, oldest DDs MIL is the manager of the FILA outlet store there and they were havin’ a big sale, so we picked up a bunch of stuff for our upcoming October cruise...we got sale prices plus her discount...!!!!!!! :D:joyfull:;):)

Do you know where she works? I saw a CM in DHS with a service dog last trip.
She just returned to Star Tour gift shop. CM was on medical leave for a while this year. When she returned she was temporarily in Epcot but when they transferred her and Mozart back to the Studios she was also given full time status vs PT which she was so happy about. I enjoy watching the two of them interact with guests and they pin trade while waiting for my family to come out of ST
It is my understanding Mozart was a service dog but became also a seizure alert dog after he self taught himself to notify her she was going to have a seizure.

That is the Magic of Disney. They could have walked away from that CM due to her limitations but instead hired her and then gave her FT after being out for so long. She and her Pup are beloved by guests and fellow cast members. Both are awesome.

Note he has his own CM ID and graduated Traditions with her.

I joined a gym. I still don't run. Unless I'm being chased by a bee.
Both of my kids started running again this year. Neither of them like it but to get the exercise in with little time on some days they cope. Both belong to a gym and hit it 4-5 days a week. Nice you joined one too.

My ankle won’t permit me to run. I’ve had a rough 3 weeks as I hurt the same ankle again. Getting slowly better but slower cause I can’t bring myself to go back to the boot after only being free of the 3 months in it a short while.

If you would, Will you shoot me a photo of your ankle brace? It sounds a bit less intrusive with same type healing properties. My Ortho just is in love with boots but they make me walk lopsided

Yes and the trick to them is rinsing them and when you think they're rinsed enough rinse them again or they taste funny

I am open to most things minus tofu @Tony the Tigger Never had a version of tofu that didn’t make me gag. no matter how it is rinsed or cooked shirataki feels like play-doh in my mouth. I was an odd child I ate caterpillars 🐛 as a kid too

I actually like tofu! Especially as part of an Asian stir-fry, etc. It just has to be seasoned properly. General Tso’s tofu is very good, and I have to think less processed than newer “fake meats” (that have better consistency.)

Then again, I get High cholesterol from breathing and blinking, so I’d better like it.

Doctor just gave me 12 pills - take one a week to lower cholesterol and get retested in August. I haven’t taken any. Going to try zero animal products and alcohol for the three weeks before the test (and less than usual- which is already low - for the whole time) plus I’ve already been back on my workout schedule for about 6 or 8 weeks and seeing results. That’s supposed to help.
