Today I decided to pass on the bag lunch and I signed out of school and headed to Wendy's. The drive thru had 6 cars ....so I parked mine and went in. There were a number of senior citizens in line at the register. So.....I ran back to my car and headed to Burger King.
BK had one car at the drive thru and nobody at the inside register.
I wonder if any of you like Wendy's more than Burger King? (Naturally some people don't like either)

I like both just fine, but, even though they’re both close to home, haven’t been to either in quite a while, as DWifey and youngest DD prefer Whataburger and P. Terry’s Burger Stand...!!! :hungry::)

I learned today that dd’s team got the highest score any mini team(5-8 year olds) ever got from our gym! The gym has had a competitive cheer program for 17 years now. They got a 94. Hoping for another great performance this Saturday in Hershey. They are up against 8 other teams this weekend. More tough competitors.

Fantastic! Something to be proud of for sure! Good luck on the next competition.

This keeps happening to me. I google a place my forum friend likes and it is multi states away :(
Whataburger looks good but the nearest one to NJ is in Georgia. :banghead::eek:
I guess it'll be awhile 'til I'm down there again ;)

It's still too cold and windy to do any outside walking, not to mention all the fallen branches and my lack of sleep due to the air you can hear. Tonight's dinner stuffed groundhog with cranberry sauce

Yum Cranberry Sauce. :hungry:

There is one window here that whistles LOUDLY in strong winds. In 65mph there isn't the thing called sleep. Still not as annoying a someone Snoring ...

In the middle of windstorm night #1 about 3am I got up and hunted down my headphones and slammed them in my ears...it blocked out about 70% of the wind whistles volume.

Yup, Pop is queens now with some rooms that have a king. All Stars are not.

Pop has an interesting set up with the one queen bed pulling down from the wall. It's actually a nice set up; it gives you more room when it's up. Don't think the mattress was different since it was the same thickness, but I made my brother take the one that pulled down, so I wouldn't know...😇

I find that the mainland branded hotels (ilton & Marriot) have queens, but then all of the ones in Hawaii are like that with double beds. Benefit to Aulani...queen beds at a luxury resort. Makes much more sense.

Last year when we stayed at Pop at the beginning and end of the month it was at Pop refurbished room with the one queen dropping down from the wall. 1st time back by the lake and at the end of the long trip I was in a priority room by main pool/lobby so different housekeepers. When we were in the room one day the housekeepers never put the bed back up. It rained down across the table, Bed was made just not returned to its spot so if you wanted to use table you had to put it back yourself. And there wasn't really a spot for the 'chairs' that went with table when the bed was down. That was ackward but still the set up is so much better than it was with 2 full beds.

We did that once for Mousefest and never returned to Pop until last year. My Draw to always staying at a Disney Branded Resort was always the transportation and EMHs Now there are less and less EMHs so that perk is fading. Now with Uber for a few dollars we tend to Uber frequently to the parks or nearest hotel at MK so transportation with Uber and Lyft has been a deal changer. Staying at 4 and 5 star resort is new and novel the last few years and we are enjoying the pampering. We will likely continue to stay at Disney Resorts for our long trip each year, this year it will be BLT, something we have never done.
The lazy river at Bonnet Creek Hilton is so nice as is their themed pool area and Lobby. That December trip it was less per night than Pop. What we are pricing out now for Flower and Garden Swan, Bonnet and the Wyndham the ones on Disney Property proper are still coming in cheaper than the moderates and the values. I'm loving the change of pace (place) In the Winter sometime I want to stay GayLord Palms during the ice castle playground time. That would be so much fun. It is off property but still only a stone throw.

Like us. We pay a sales tax when we purchase, then the yearly registration, and yearly inspection. It was the same when I lived in NY and NJ. It has been 20 years since I have lived in NY, so that may have changed.

We have a sales tax that greatly varies on which county you reside in. Doesn't matter which county you purchase in the tax is reflective of the county where you live. $101 per year for registration plates. Some cities have vehicle town/city stickers too. We don't, my Mom's is $100. We have an inspection every two years, you have to have it done prior to registration renewal every other year. It is free but a pain.

There is no way we could plant any flowers now, especially with impending snow. Dh said we are expecting another cold wave with single digits in the evenings next week. :(:banghead:

Here too. Weather .com says pretty much the same for the extended 15 day outlook.
hear slingshot Tonight snow, rain, ice. High tomorrow 32. If it get to at least 34-5 the ice would at least melt.

Yep, both Whataburger and P. Terry’s are very good...!!!!! :hungry::)
But, you’d hafta’ travel all the way to Austin for P. Terry’s, as it’s an Austin original founded in 2005 with 14 locations, and 2 more opening soon...another in the Austin area, and one in San Marcos, TX about 45 mins. south of Austin on I-35.
Whataburger, on the other hand, was founded in Corpus Christi, TX in 1950, and has 824 locations across the southwestern, southern, and southeastern US.
I hafta’ admit, until I Googled, I didn’t even realize they had that many locations across that much territory...!!! :cyclops:;):)
P. Terry’s has more standard burger fare, along with a chicken sandwich and a veggie burger of their own recipe, and really good thin, skin-on fries.
Whataburger also has standard burger fare and great fries, but, they also have some really awesome specialty burgers, as well as a patty melt on Texas toast that is to die for...!!!!!!! :hungry:

I can't imagine going to WDW and not staying onsite. If I were doing other activities outside of Disney, I'd maybe think about it. But too many benefits to being onsite, the transportation to and from the airport, the transportation within the resort (I don't like taking Lyft when Disney transportation will take me straight where I need to go, exception being water parks and between resorts). Plus, the AP discounts make it worth it. Pop was $97 including taxes for each room. When I went to DL, we paid more to stay at a Marriott, and Pop was definitely nicer all around.

I like Hilton, but find they're a bit pricey. They're nice, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I look at their rates like 😨. The main one we've done is Hilton Waikiki. Really nice resort. Horribly uncomfortable beds and pool areas are unimpressive. The most comfortable spot was the couch folded in. I sleep on Disney sofa beds with no issue. My Fitbit shows last trip I slept just as well on the sofa bed at Boardwalk as the real bed at Pop. Pretty good. One year we got a room at Hilton Hawaiian Village with a sofa bed. Could not do that one.

The only thing you might not like about BLT is that I believe the rooms haven't been renovated since they opened. So they're about 10 years old. Some of the other DVCs have newer rooms. Not that they're bad at all, just older. The pool area behind BLT is also tiny.

Out of the 363 days a year the rooms at Pop are not $97 the majority of time. The studios at BLT have been renovated 'cause of the freaky way they were configured.

And I too had not stayed off site for 30 years, felt the same way. You are in a different situation being a family member of a DVC owner and the vast majority of time in a time share. I'd wholeheartedly agree staying offsite vs a family timeshare. I'd be staying in that timeshare also.

The 5 star resorts we've been staying at are physically on Disney Property. The only lack is the Magical Express. My Uber for the family has been about $40 each way from MCO and not having to go to multiple resorts for pick up and drop offs. No Magical Resort queues, no waiting to depart from the airport. No 3 hours before flight (we are TSA Precheck) on Magical Express. So for $80 between all of us for an Uber we roll our luggage to Uber and in 5 minutes we have a non stop to our 5 star resort over Pop to a high end resort.

I look at the current set up of DHS and their bus loop for resorts or park hop and it is ridiculous currently. Not acceptable for this long. An Uber drops me so much closer and no ever changing expected time changing at resort bus stops. We've watched the TV screen change times up to 45 minutes expected arrival for buses. Even when staying at Disney Resorts we are taking Ubers over Disney Buses the majority of time because Disney is currently stressed with Bus Transportation drivers. We one day in the Fall departed from the Swan to head to Disney Spring for Dinner at Arts. Waited for a bus for about 20 minutes and it was packed. Then we proceeded to Dolphin, then to Beach, Yacht, then onto Boardwalk before finally departing to Springs. One Hour and 15 minutes later we hit the far out bus stop at Springs. We were late to Arts but they took us. Had I known we had 5 bus Hotels for Deluxe Resorts we would have spared ourselves and taken an $6 Uber to Springs.

We found the same thing staying at Swan with the boats. The length of time waiting for a boat or two depending on the lines given the construction, it can take 45 minutes or more to go from the Studios to Epcot. A few dollars isn't worth the Free Transportation. We might spend $25 a day tops on Ubers with park hopping included but big picture, 5 Star over Pop vs free transportation that is currently painful, the $25 is a drop in the bucket of a trip.

It wasn't always this way and hopefully the Gondolas might take some heat off the buses and allow the Epcot/Studio High end resorts some relief from transpiration on going issues. Maybe not have 5 hotels on a bus loop like we experienced with Springs. Still it will not deter me from staying at any of those resorts, we just build $25 into the budget for Uber per day which is the maximum we've ever paid per day. All of those hotels are awesome and the deals on them have been great if you are flexible on which one you will stay in during certain times of the year. Me, what we are paying at BLT trumps Pop's higher price renting points. We now work the best resort we can get for the $$$. If I pay $25 for Uber I'm happy with that.
