Just got a call from my school district, we are closed tomorrow. We are still under blizzard conditions until around midnight and no plows are going out on the roads in our county until 4 am tomorrow. :(:grumpy: I only live a couple blocks from school, so I think I'll still go in and do some of the make up hours I have to do. I have never been so honestly unhappy to have so many school closures in my life! We haven't had a fully week of school since the first full week of January and we are in the 5th week of the quarter. I'm getting so behind on my lesson track. Sorry, rant over....

I saw the 131 vehicle pile up on the news. Nasty.

I've slept on many sofa beds. Mostly Disney ones. The Disney ones are actually pretty comfortable.

That being said, they're a gigantic pain. You either have to make them up every day in order to get your couch back, and then pull then out and make them up...or you have to leave them out, which defeats the purpose of a living room when you have a giant bed in it.

On a separate note, I don't understand some of these luxury resorts with the double beds. A Hilton Garden Inn in San Diego...queen beds. A Hilton on Waikiki beach, fanciest hotel I've ever been to...double beds. No sense.

We check. Bonnet Creek Hiltons had Queens.

I am surprised Disney Moderate and Values had Full sized beds. That was rough with a family of 4. I know the moderates all have queens, I think most of values are going to queens. We stayed at Pop last spring a few days of my longest trip ever. 2 Queens.

Does anyone have any experience with Ring Doorbells? If so, what is your opinion of it?

We're thinking about getting one, and I've been charged with doing the research.

Yeah, research it, it isn't all good.

Yup, Pop is queens now with some rooms that have a king. All Stars are not.

Pop has an interesting set up with the one queen bed pulling down from the wall. It's actually a nice set up; it gives you more room when it's up. Don't think the mattress was different since it was the same thickness, but I made my brother take the one that pulled down, so I wouldn't know...😇

I find that the mainland branded hotels (ilton & Marriot) have queens, but then all of the ones in Hawaii are like that with double beds. Benefit to Aulani...queen beds at a luxury resort. Makes much more sense.

Yeah, we have Alexa in basically every room and I have three electronic devices that all have location services on...I'm not too worried about that.

Plus, we don't use our front door. We come in via the garage. No doorbell or anything back there. If anyone had access to the doorbell recordings, they'd probably just wonder why I order from Amazon so much.

I stayed at Pop at arrival and departure of my long trip last spring during its renovations in refurbished rooms. In a heartbeat I will choose Bonnet Creek Hilton's over a Disney Value. Had such a good time and experience. Up next is on property Wyndham and BLT. We shall see. Still haven't landed on a hotel for Flower and Garden. Resort prices are slowly dropping so it is a waiting game. Over the summer there was the Contemporary last year have yet to stay at BLT I am looking forward to it...pray the monorails are running smoothly.

its 1:00 am and it was.. an eventful day.

Just to make it short.. grandmah left us.

Kinda ironic considering all the things we did to meet her before she went and we couldnt see her.

We packed midnight of yesterday, we took a somewhat early bus, we arrived, had early lunch before we didnt had breakfast. mom was completely destroyed after being awake for 3 days taking care for my gran nonstop.
She went to sleep, while we were on the car, we got called that she passed out... mere blocks away from arriving.

Anyway, she was sent to the funeral home, we did the classic prayer and sigil, some of her daughrners will stay in the sigil for the full night then tomorrow will be the mass in a church.

Now im exhausted and going to bed.. will probably return home tomorrow late night or on tuesday.

I am so sorry Cesar. {{{BIG HUGS}}}

Returning tomorrow home. mom will stay longer for signing more papers and do the will stuff. also to do the classic Christian 3 day vigil/mass.

How are you and your family holding up? Those Vigil masses take their toll. We did them/wake version when I was young as we are Irish and those Wakes were customary and sleepless days with parades of callers. I'll keep you all in my prayers and thoughts including Gran.

I need to ask one more opinion though,

I booked a one bedroom suite, but chose two double beds in the bedroom instead of a king bed. I’m not thrilled with that but I feel horrible having T sleep on a sofa bed in the living room.

Would you keep it this way, or would you have your kid sleep on a pullout so you’re not in a little bed?

People have their own preferences, I guess. (I assume you have a queen or king at home?) Anyway, a double (or full, whatever you call it) is o.k. You could have one, and your son could have the other one. Since one double is sized for 2 average-sized people, if each one of you had their own, both people would have plenty of space to sleep. After each day of vacation, running around and having fun, once you hit the pillow, you'll sleep regardless.

No experience with those. However, we have our own system--our (regular, not one of those newer-type) doorbell has been broken for about 8 years. If someone really wants to see us, they just knock on the door. :p Plus, even if they didn't knock on the door, Jack would be barking his head off once someone got up on the porch anyway--a canine "doorbell" works just fine for us! :joyfull:

I could be mistaken, but, based on reply's, I think that the two bed deal was like a suite with a separate bedroom. That would probably cost a lot more. I just read it to be a room with two double beds. That was the basis for my comment. Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain... he's getting senile. Otherwise, I really am lost trying to envision the situation.

Actually I also read it as a room with two double beds as well.

I have one. I really like it. When you first get it, you really have to tweek the settings, or it will go off a lot. If you already have a doorbell, you can wire it up to the existing wiring. If you don't, it can run on an internal battery that you have to charge every 3-4 weeks.

We didn't have a doorbell on the house, so one thing that it does is ring only on the phone. However, you can buy an additional plug in to go with it, that will chime in the house and on your phone when the door rings.

IMHO go with the king for yourself. I'm sure T will find the pull out a bit of an adventure. That being said most of our vacations have the boys tired out at the end of the day
