That is good to hear. That kind of behavior should not be tolerated.
Our club doesn’t want their players to play indoor. For two reasons- 1. Bad habits (which I completely disagree with). 2. Injuries.
There’s enough risk in boarded indoor, no reason to allow unnecessary risks.
I was so disgusted by the coaches too. Just bad all the way around. I’m glad we don’t play them again.
Not sure if I said this last Spring, but in the final at a tourney, there was a kid on the opposing team who was really, I mean really, a dirty player. Tripping and slide tackling ( slide tacking is not allowed at this age, the kids don’t even learn it yet.). That player received a yellow card after his 5th or 6th penalty, taking one of our kids out of the game.
Our parents all clapped our hands in response.
It’s the one and only time I have seen such a young player receive a card, or even deserve a card.
We won, but after the game while we were waiting for awards ceremony, we saw the coach buying an ice cream for that specific player, and telling him to not worry about the yellow card, and keep playing aggressive.
I was floored. These kids were 7 or just-turned-8 years old... that boy learned it from somewhere, and his coach is supporting and rewarding such bad and dangerous behavior.
I don’t know what’s wrong with adults like that!!!
I still would have gone with a cruise. Best of both worlds. Ocean view and family activities. Just my opinion.
I need extended beach time.. and I feel like it’s silly to do a cruise to Bermuda.. I’d rather just do a land trip there.. but T wants a “Spanish speaking country”... and I live the D.R.. so it’s time for him to go.
