That's interesting you would say that because last night me and a friend at work were talking about that time being the golden time of basketball. Not just because of Jordan but there seemed to be a lot of great forward/point guard duos like John Stockton and Karl Malone, Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton and of course Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. I haven't followed along as closely as I want to but I would sure love to see some real greatness in professional basketball again.
Yeah, there were some amazing teams.. a huge collection of stars.
Dont forget Larry Bird, Magic Johnson,etc..

Both of my kids have managed a good sized waterpark and train lifeguards. They have tricks of the trade for removing such things as not to attract attention. Disney is an Ellis Guard park as is the WaterPark my kids managed. They share trade secrets. My DD who still moonlights as a manager and trainer last year managed to pull one out of the Lazy River with nobody noticing. It wound up being a nice sized wood chip. :joyfull:
I'm still amazed how people can do that.. RIGHT IN THE WATER PARK.
weren't they educated? theres restrooms for that!

Jordan was great for the first few years it was great. But it became as redundant as he was. Last I heard the weirdo house of his was still for sale, those who can afford the compound don't want it.
on his first years?
you mean his double tree peats? or his younger years?

Despite his age, he still pulled some magic with the Wizards, but he clearly got tired too easily.

Nope the export to US is sugar cane, Mexican for domestic use went to Corn Syrup in 2013. Don't know if they reversed that or not. It is an easy Google search. Wouldn't make any sense to for the US to import Corn Syrup Coke as the cost of transporting that would be ridiculous as the price of 6 bottles of Mexican Coke here.
I have no idea, but not a single soda I have had.. uses syrup.

They probably use the syrup for the fountain machines in restaurants, but bottled? big nope.

I totally missed my chance to have an early night.
Stayed up instead to do a couple of loads of laundry.

JenniferS - a study in contradictions.
I spend $400/month to have my house cleaned, but stay up until 4:00 a.m. to take advantage of cheaper hydro rates.

(We really need a koo koo for cocoa puffs smilie!)

The one tradition Macy's kept was the Walnut Rooms Christmas Tree and it is different each year.

The elaborate windows down State Street are goners. I miss that. We'd go down at night and look at all the high scale store windows during shopping season. Marshal Fields use to have an fantastic Santa room too a cottage area built in the store for kids to explore while waiting to see Santa.

Days gone bye.

Now, those pictures are spectacular. I love the layout of that store with all that open space from the ground up; it lends itself to a huge, magnificent tree. That is just gorgeous. (I actually like the decorations on the tree better, in the older picture, but it still looks very nice in the modern one, too.)

The cottage is really a creative and beautiful idea, too. They had some outstanding designers at your stores back then.

All the above brought so much excitement to the holiday shopping experience. I truly miss all these embellishments in my city, too. I recall wondering each year, how they would top the previous one, with the creative and lovely window displays, indoor decorations, etc. Jordan Marsh had the Enchanted Village of St. Nicholas, with mannequins of children dressed in old English clothing, and street scenes of an old village at Christmas time. It was a huge draw to the store; many families made it a point to go to JM during the Christmas season to see this charming display.

Yes I think we found our resident WDW picture taker. Wow. How come I just didn't say photographer ?

Actually, we have a few excellent photographers here. (Don't forget about the wonderful cruise pictures from @Cesar R M .) Others have also posted pix here and there that were great, too. I'd say we're very lucky to have so many wonderful photographers, and now another talented member: @ajrwdwgirl !!
