2 Half-day Friday observations on my way to pick up DS from work...

I noticed (for the first time) a business called ____’s Foot Spa. Not a clue what all that entails, but, seems like a bit of a niche market. :cyclops:
Although, I guess it could be even more niche if it was ____’s Just Toe Cuticles...!!!!! :hilarious: ;)

And, Burger King smells really good driving by it when the breeze is just right...!!!!! :hungry:

On a Thanksgiving note...

The company DWifey works for sent all their employees home with a 20lb. turkey and all the fixins’ yesterday.
And, the Salvation Army Major showed up today at DSs job...all employees were given 12lb. turkeys, a box of stuffing, 2 cans of green beans, and 2 boxes of Mac ‘N Cheese...
The world really isn’t so bad after all...!!!!!

Although, I’ve never really been down on it too much anyway, as I know the stories my folks have told me about their parents and grandparents had the world goin’ to hell in a flamin’ handbasket back in the 40’s...
The world has been goin’ to hell (according to many in every generation) since the beginning of time... :cyclops:
I just try to, mostly ;), look for the good, and not be dragged down into the misery pile by others...!!!!!

Ok so, because I had to push our cruise back once again... from June to Thanksgiving now June.. an entire year of a paid cruise just sitting and making me crazy (and a little regretful about leaving my last job)....

I decided to do a quick 2 night stay at Great Wolf Lodge again... this time in a Kid Camp suite and invitied my niece and nephew... I’m worried about having a just-turned-4, 5, and 8 year old all by myself in the water park... so I asked my sister to come for a bit on Sunday, and my mom to come on Monday... Sister agreed and will stay to the evening on Sunday.. Mom said “I can’t go there, I know there was rumors about bed bugs a few years ago.”
:hilarious::hilarious:

So now, both my sister and myself are trying to convince my mom that she is unreasonably paranoid... I just spoke with her again.. she’s been reading reviews and looking for bed bug posts, for the past 2 hours.
So is your cruise in 2019 now?

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for both of you

Thank you! Now that Soccer has taken over our lives the past year, the only weeks we really have are Thanksgiving or late June...
we could do the 2nd week of January.. but I don’t want to for two reasons- 1. Too close to Christmas break. 2. Too cold. So, June it is.

I hope to fit a quick Universal or SoFla trip somewhere before then. In the meantime, just road trips. I promised a Cedar Point trip sometime in May or early June, so that’s a must. I wish they opened in April!

My unpopular opinion is too much emphasis on sports with kids at a young age is not a good idea. I guess I'm just old school.. I just want kids to be able to be kids without having so much stress and pressure of try outs, and making the team. My co-worker and I disagree on this.. she was just talking today about her daughter and the freshman volleyball team and how they are playing over the Holidays.. and that if they go away on vacation with family, their play time gets cut... it's all just TOO MUCH. (at least for me it is!)

says the woman who has no kids...

Yep, I alluded to this a few months ago and, basically, got told to stick it...but, I saw the writing on the wall, and see what’s come to fruition...

Myself and my 3 younger sibs were encouraged to play baseball and soccer...but, my pop (good Lord, I wish so many of you could meet my pop...the TRUE voice of reason), would not coach us on a team after the first year. It was up to us. But, there was no pressure craziness, we just loved playing the sports and were so excited to be doing so...IT. WAS. FUN...!!!!!!!
What has happened to the fun...?!?!?!?!?! :cyclops:
Sure, we all wanted to win, but, it was also about learning about being able to win or lose grafully, being humble, and accepting defeat...suck it up, and do the best you can next time...if it still doesn’t work out, still get over it...it’s just life for us first world folk (and, I know that will get a comment ;))...breathe a bit...it will all be OK...!!!!!:D;):)
