Well you guys were chatty while I was gone to my knitting retreat this weekend. Forgive me if I skipped the 25 pages and start fresh! Hope everyone had a good weekend. It snowed here on Friday and yesterday... I'm not ready yet... 6 days until Florida!

I hope you had a good time. Any pictures of the stuff you created? I got snow in my area this weekend, not much (less than an inch) but it wasn't really welcome. I'm about a week away from California, I am looking forward to some warmer weather.

It's okay; I never bother catching up.

Basically, some members were having computer issues, Figgy drinks coffee, Ferret doesn't like coffee, there was a disagreement about the first Pirates movie (general consensus is that it is worthwhile) and there were some Muppet videos thrown in there.

There! You're caught up!

So I worked on this blanket most of the weekend... Screwed it up 3 times and had to redo it. I started hubby a pair of socks, and I bought this pretty yarn I couldn't resist.

Thanks for the cliff notes! For the record I don't like coffee, but I have found I'm learning to like some... Starbucks peppermint mocha is the gateway.

Thank you to all our Veterans. And a special thank to all sitting in wait deployed to the border with little electricity, no combat pay and likely holidays away from home. :(
Bless you all.

Like it all started with a mouse.....

Peppermint Mocha was one of my sons initial gateways. My Gran started my love of coffee when I was about 2 years old. She lived in the house next to ours when I was tiny. I'd go to Grans every afternoon and we'd have coffee together, at the time I was her only Granddaughter and we'd share time at the dining room table a few minutes each day in China Cups with saucers and little silver spoons. My coffee was more cream than coffee and from there my love of coffee grew.

Good luck! I hope you fit your trip in.

Thanks. :) I can't complain. There are 4 booked for the future. Trying to smash another into the mix kinda last minute has its issues. Airfare mainly. I can find cheap airfare coming home, going is the issue. There is a chunk of 'oldies' going and it is more old acquaintances catching up again in person at a 10 year anniversary. Half the events will be in the parks others in restaurants and bars. Old times will be shared and remembered. But if it can't be squished in there is always the recaps on The Book of Face.

The veggies were what I had on hand today. Celery make a decent substitute for bok choi etc. Daikon is a long white radish used in oriental cooking, regular ones can also be used if need be. I put pepper strips in when they're in season and I toss bean spouts in at the end if I have them.

Thank you. I've seen these. Never knew what to do with them.

That sounds like fun. I like the mom and pop, nonprofessional fairs like that. You can get some really nice stuff for reasonable prices. (Many of the smaller vendors can't afford the big table prices at the professional fairs.)

I bought some more pot holders that are woven looms kids use to make. They work so well. A Grandma had a table but her Granddaughter that seemed to be be a young adult with Downs had stacks of potholders she had woven at the end of the table. I bought an entire stack. Very reasonable and a great way for a young person with special needs to earn. She made them quite well. And I'm a sloppy cook with my potholders so stacks are needed. The young lady was happy, I was happy. Good Day.

One of my best craft fairs was one where most people sold Avon, Tupperwear and such:joyfull: but yup hate going to those

I am always disappointed when I go to what is billed as crafts and it is really a corporate selling of wares over crafts. Nothing against home based selling businesses I just prefer honesty, is it crafts or corporate products.
