Nice. I recall years ago when I used to do (some) sewing, I always stuck with the easier patterns -- Simplicity, McCalls, etc.. I'm not surprised you can handle a Vogue pattern with your advanced sewing skill. (I think I bought one once, and ended up throwing it out, from frustration!) :p
Thanks but 'm not so sure about the advanced part. I like McCall's, Vogue and New Look and for the most part don't like Simplicity or Butterick. I have one Butterick pattern I somewhat like(love the skirt and use it for a sloper and the bodice is beautiful but required major fitting) Believe it or not Vogue has some very straight forward instructions and is better at labeling if a pattern is easy or advanced than the others. What I'm worried about is the "Big 4" are all now owned by the same parent company and fear that they will lose what makes them a bit different not that that wasn't already happening.

That really is very concerning about one parent company now. There were definite differences in all of them, as I also recall, per what you stated above. Keep an eye open for some of the better designs now from the specific pattern names, as that "might" change in the future--if they streamline and cut out some of the lesser selling brands. Ugh.

Traffic just to get to the gate of the soccer park- 35 minutes. From turn to guardhouse.

We’ve been at the field here 15 minutes.. supposed to be here at 7:30 for warmup...4 of our team is still stuck in traffic- game starts at 8!😬

Oh, and it’s 41 Degrees. 😶

(I’m still in my car while they’re warming up)

Have another cup of coffee. :p (P.S.: My all-time favorite song of theirs was Try a Little Tenderness.)
I don't know if I have ever mentioned it before, but, back a few years ago (4 or 5) I attended an AARP convention in Atlanta. On the agenda was a concert called "The Turtles Tour", they had different, back in the day, stars in it. People like Gary Lewis and the Playboys. I cannot remember his name, but, one of the performers was a guy that had been a member of "Three Dog Night". His highlight performance was to lead the audience in a very high spirited round of Joy to the World.

You have never seen so many so many old folks standing up and waving their arms and singing to the top of there old and tired lungs. It was a mad house. Those that weren't standing and dancing in the aisle were sitting and rattling their walkers. It was a sight to behold. Fortunately he was the last performer, because I don't think we could have managed anymore excitement in one day unless there were a fleet of EMS responders just outside.

I think I have won the winter watch prize. @MinnieM123 will be very jealous. Yesterday we had snow flurries. It didn't stick by us, but my husband had to drive about 40 minutes north and it started sticking to the roads. He said the road got a little slick in spots. Even some of the students at school who like snow and going snowmobiling said it was a little to early to see the snow.
I miss the farm up there, but I don’t miss the winters. Sitting on the tractor, trying to make lanes in the hay field, just so I could push snow up the driveway and out into the field because I all ready had 6’ piles on either side of the driveway. No, that was not fun....

Ha!!!! I totally did. Good times.
My mom alwaysnplayed classical or Broadway show music when I was growing up, so I was pretty clueless about any other type of music until 9th grade. My first tapes were Bryan Adams Reckless, Michael Jackson Beat it, and Sting’s Dream of the Blue Turtles. Those were bought for me by my parents for Christmas along with a walkman. My mom’s friend picked out the tapes because my mom didn’t know what to get. My collection only grew after that and Tower Records became my favorite store. (May it rest in peace in store heaven).
