I always wondered what your draw was to leave giving the need to leave for a country that you never visited...now I wake to bat crazy every morning and I find it rough and nonsensical daily upheaval. I now look at you and your desires to escape for a more calm way of life without the unglued which we have become and realize sometimes youth sees things more clearly.
If you had told me when I was 20 that I would someday live in a foreign country, I'd have told you that you were NUTS. Now I am SOOOOOO glad I don't live in the US at the moment. It seems so chaotic right now and so divided and just...full of negativity. I'll stick with Disney for my "home" fix for now.

I'm feeling older today
1)Tomorrow my daughter is taking her PSAT test. The regular SAT will be this spring.
2)Today I wrote an e-mail to our car insurance agent asking how much it will cost to add my daughter on to our Allstate car insurance.
3)Next month we visit two more colleges for my teen.
......................................life is marching on:)

Like a fine wine, you get better every year. Just remember that, regardless of whether the kids are growing up. All ages in life have their outstanding points.

😁you can move down with me. Thanks! He is well. Cell service is still spotty but we usually talk when he sees a signal. They had to drive almost two hours to Georgia to stay last night. Rooms are hard to find with power.

Bless him. What wonderful work he and his colleagues are doing for those people down there. He must be exhausted. Hope they have some good food to eat, as that would help.

Oh my...a bit past my time!
The first concert I ever went to was Boston here in Austin back in ‘78. It was the tour that followed up the release of their second album “Don’t Look Back”. MIT graduate, band leader, guitar virtuoso, and tech genius Tom Scholz was one of my hero’s at the time...and they were better in concert than on their “ablums” ;)...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:

70s bands were great, too -- agree.

I know my dad has the original Boston Album that he bought back in the 70s. I don't know if my parents went to a Boston Concert. My dad also introduced my younger brother and I to Boston's music. It was one of the cds and music groups my dad introduced my younger brother and I.

I do know my dad went to a Three Dog Night Concert back in the 72 to 74 time frame although I think it may not have been his first concert. I know my dad claimed it was a great concert though.

LOVED Three Dog Night!!

@MySmallWorldof4 these are on sale this weekend and I have smiles that will cover the cost:joyfull:https://voguepatterns.mccall.com/new-sewing-patternsView attachment 319850View attachment 319851 They're both in 9351

Nice. I recall years ago when I used to do (some) sewing, I always stuck with the easier patterns -- Simplicity, McCalls, etc.. I'm not surprised you can handle a Vogue pattern with your advanced sewing skill. (I think I bought one once, and ended up throwing it out, from frustration!) :p

I like to watch NOVA on PBS, there are many interesting episodes. I recorded one on transplants that was on a couple weeks ago and I'm finally watching it. It is very interesting but has made me cry; transplants can give such joy to some and such sorrow. But what a beautiful gift to give. That being said if you are interested in the subject it will probably replay on PBS at some point or sometimes it can be watched on-line. It does show how a heart is transplanted and that was fascinating.

NOVA is one the best series on TV -- ever. Outstanding coverage of so many different topics.

I can say that as an elementary mom.. all of the high schools where my son may attend are heavily advertising their ACT scores.. as in billboards and highlighted on promotional materials and website. I’ve never noticed that before this year.. but I can’t say that I paid attention before.

test scores are overrated. If only everyone realized that. You spend more time in testing for the state and the feds than learning.
