Krispy Creme opened up near Dublin the other day. Never had one so I don't see what the big fuss is.

They never had a Krispy Creme so it is human nature to wanna try something nice/new....especially if it is something sweet :hungry:
Like a child who gets excited over their new toy they got as a Christmas present....wait a couple of months and that child is bored with it and never plays with it. Krispy Creme will probably become like that.
We had a ROY ROGERS fast food restaurant open in my town 2 years ago. The drive thru line extended forever and the eat in parking lot was full. Now 2 years later when I drive by hardly anyone is there. The novelty wore off.

These donuts are ridiculous popular over here..
Since there is no official store in my town, they import them from the capital of this state.
And they make funraisings by selling them.

GD is finally here, and both her and DD are doin’ fine...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy:
She was born completely healthy at 10:50p (more similarity as DD herself was born at 10:54p!). She is 81bs. even and 22 inches long!!! :)
WOW!!!!!!! What a day...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK gang, I’m out for tonight...!
The sweetest of dreams and/or mornin’ to one and all of y’all...!!!
See y’allllllllll...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Congratulations, grandpa!! I hope your DD is feeling ok...I'm betting she's going to be awfully sore for several days from all the pushing and contractions, etc. I felt like I had been hit by a bus after DD was born, and we were saved from a c-section at the last minute when I FINALLY dilated. So I'm betting your girl is going to be pretty ouchy, not to mention exhausted. Take good care of her.

Well story time.....

So no good deed goes unpunished as I said earlier.

Back story. My folks have owned this house that my Mom lives in since I was in early elementary school (so a very very log time)
That area of Suburbia of Chicago all homes have alleys behind their homes, some access garages some do not. My Moms home has a cool garage with double doors one for the driveway from the street and an exit to the alley for exit, never needing to back out. Over the decades the stone alley has made the alley higher and higher. Couple that with 3 knock downs for McMansions out of 4 neighbors. My Mom over the last decade went from level land to being the 'low spot' for rain from alley and back of property causing rain to roll from alley to her house. I grew up in that home, it is a NEW issue by higher surrounding large homes and a higher alley.

My Mom is 83. So my son was in and my DD, DS and me raised the alley along her fence to slightly higher than her neighbors to stop the neighborhood water from rolling completely into her yard to her house. This was August but in the 90's I waited until the temps dropped in late September after our WDW trip to fix the problem. On the yard side I bought bricks, dirt, landscaping skin and bark along with water eating plants to level the backside of the yard. (so far with all the rain it has worked, woot) I'm too old for this type of manual labor. I am a small woman now well into my 50's. It took me 6 days to level a short brick wall, fill it with dirt, line it and bark it then add plants so Mom's property would stop flooding.

I've yet to see it in daylight as I was not leaving until it was done on DAY 6. It is over an hour to my Moms and back again so it is a time ability thing. But Mom's backyard and the area I was working in is not level and so many dips. Well I wrenched my ankle and damaged my Achilles, enter boot. At least I finished my Moms yard. Good Daughter.
*Pat on head. *

Well it is black outside the last few hours I worked on this cause I was going to be DONE!!!
Photos are taken at night and flash only does so much on my phone

And stepped into a dip messed up leg

Sorry about your ankle... but your fix looks good. I've lived in chicago twice, and I'm familiar with the garage/alley, etc.

Thank you!!! :)

Yesterday she mentioned feeling like she had been hit by a freight train early on, but, she has even impressed her doc and the hospital staff with how quickly she is bouncing back!
SonIL is a champ and they have always been each other’s rocks, so he has and will continue to take care of her, as she does him!!!!!
Of course, we will always do what we need to do to take care of her as warranted. We have always been non-intrusive/non-overbearing, but, also, very loving and caring parents, and will continue to be so. Pretty sure that's one of the reasons why we’re still such a close family...!!!!!
We were invited to the hospital to visit earlier this afternoon again, and drove all the way down there. We parked and were heading in when we got a phone call from our youngest DD (who has been helping them a lot) that oldest DD just had a bunch of friends who had just visited (and who DWifey and I ran into on their way out and chatted with for a bit) that kinda’ overstayed their welcome. Plus all of their other friends that have visited.
Oldest DD had quite the headache, and just wanted to rest for a while.
We turned right around and drove back home. No biggie. We were invited to come back to visit later this evening. If she still doesn’t feel well (of course we hope she does), we’ll visit when it’s a good time again.
Of, course, we wanna’ see our beautiful DG ASAP again, but, we also have Grandpatience...!!!!! :hilarious::happy:;)

Thank you. The yard looks better than it has in 20 years. My Dad lost interest as he aged. It had always been pretty while I was growing up.

The residents have been told if they want the alley paved they have to split the cost among themselves including deep sewers. 80% of alleys are paved and were paid for by the city
