Cloudy, on and off rain, and 62 degrees. Sweatshirt weather.
Woke this morning here in Brick @ 7:30am to get dd up. She is a flute player in the band and they have an away game to go to. It was raining quite hard! She went on her group chat with others and I went on the school district's website. No cancellation. Actually, that was the correct decision. Now it's a little after 10 and its only cloudy.

I put this in the political thread, but it’s not about politics so I want to post it here. There’s been a lot of photos/words the past few days, but I may love this one the best.

Also, T’s class made cards for the Cincinnati Police Department yesterday... just “Thank You” and what they appreciate about the police.

I am so incredibly proud and thankful for the first responders this week, more than ever. What they did is nothing short of incredible. I think everyone in the Greater Cincy area is so proud and thankful for these brave men and women. They truly saved countless lives. My heart goes out to the victims and families who were killed by that monster, but it could have been so much worse had it not been for the immediate action of the CPD.

Oldest DD called earlier and said that her FIL had 2 free tickets to the UT football game tonight if I and DWifey wanted them. We politely declined. Overpriced parking, overpriced food/drinks (much more expensive than when we used to work those football concessions years ago to earn money for both DDs HS choir trips). Plus, it has been rainin’ off and on all day, we wouldn’t get home ‘til we’ll after midnight if we stayed for the whole game, and, well...UT pretty much s u c k s again this year...!!!!! :hilarious:

A parent I know let me know that there are acres of sumflowers about 6 miles from my house so on our way home from the outlet center we drove there. It was amazing. It was a cloudy day and close to 5 so they weren’t showing their pretty faces as much, but still gorgeous.

I don't watch team sports, but I've heard from others I know, that above the actual ticket prices, it's the parking and other fees & food that get you! :jawdrop:

Oh, how sweet is T's class to make nice cards for the city police. Have no doubt that will mean so much to them. We've had some fatal incidents in my state this past year as well, and I can tell you that kind gestures from children, in particular, made such an impression upon local law enforcement. It helped to solidify the important work they do, to protect and serve.

Fountain Square is our city icon., it’s just such a busy place, truly our city center. The police responded almost immediately after the shooter opened fire, I can’t even imagine how many lives they saved.
I think it has everyone here a little shaken up, but at the same time, so amazingly proud of our first responders and our city. There was a beautiful get together on the square yesterday, I wasn’t able to make it, but several friends and family went. So nice to see the city come together.
This is us at Fountain Square in July, the words below are so true.. :)

I’m sorry that your area has suffered tragedy as well. First responders so often go unappreciated, it’s definitely important to acknowledge their courage. I hope they do get some comfort and realize how appreciated they are.
