Shopping in the rain was interesting at every store we went to the women and kids were dropped at the door and the men parked the cars and ran into the stores as very few had umbrellas. Same in reverse when leaving the stores:D:angelic: quite a few families had today off.

Sympathy like
Unfortunately I have to cope and have to memorize ALL the names, branded names and standard names. (some products for example, have "product type " names that are renamed by the company to fit their needs.. adding to the confusion).

Some are simple, like IEE1394 (which is named "firewire") but others are more annoying, like processors instructions, every company has their own name for the same tech... and sometimes even the general name is not widely used.. they use the IEE standardizing number or definition on top of the company's own name.

We drive by these guys every Friday

Do you have any marketable architectural skills? If you do, come on down here where it’s warm and apply, and I’ll put in a good word for you! :)
Or, maybe, I can talk the partners into hiring a full-time healthy cook/chef...!!! ;)
But the okra may be a deal breaker ...

Funniest thing happened as I was leaving work today...

We're moving to a new building, and most people have already moved to the new building, but some IT personnel, including myself, are in between buildings. Today, I had to be in the old building where there were only a few of us.

As I was pulling out, I noticed a couple of teens who definitely did not work there (I know everyone who should be there at this point) out in the parking lot loitering. There's a sign that says you're not supposed to be there unless you work there or you're a guest of someone who works there, and the parking lot isn't visible from the street, so I pulled up next to them to see what they were doing and if I needed to call security. One of them was my mom's friend's 18 year old daughter, who has been acting out to the point that they're looking at kicking her out of their house. She recognized me as I waved at her, played it cool for a moment, and then much to my amusement, ran away. Don't wanna know what they were doing there, but my mom is going to let her quietly stew for a day or two before she casually mentions it to her mother. :hilarious:

We drive by the Austin Auction every Friday afternoon on my way home from picking up DS from his gig at the Salvation Army up in Round Rock just north of here (I make a kinda’ big loop to avoid heavy traffic).
Anyway, they have these sculptures/statues out front...I couldn’t find any images online, so today I just pulled into the parking lot and took this pic...

They look way more cool at night when driving by backlighted the way they are (which we did many times coming back in the evening from oldest DD and SonILs first apartment after visiting with them several years back)...!!! :)
