OMG is there any chance this will get fixed at all
No idea, certainly the 10,000 pesos insurance might be the only 90% sure.
Who knows how long and how the other investigation goes. My mom is completely swamped with things to do to resolve this (full of bureaucracy mind you..) and I dont think its 100% sure he would recover the other 40,000.

Oh and look at this grease filled insane amount of pepperoni pizza!! We always order cheese.. didn’t want to wait 5 minutes for it to be finished, so we ordered pepperoni with plans to pick it off. This was pepperoni with a side of pizza. :(

I was a bit worried about safety myself, but I figure if my worry wort of a father thinks it's fine, it's probably fine. I figure most of these drivers are just trying to make a living. I just take precautions, like not riding up front and keeping my phone out during the ride.

My thoughts as well. There could be crazy drivers in a taxi or car service as well, sometimes people just have to be trusted. I just keep aware and like you sit in the back.

Last day of summer :(

Hit the zoo today. Surprisingly it was PACKED! We couldn’t get near Fiona :( ..but the kids were happily playing with pill bugs. :cautious:

Gotta love a zoo! I assume that is your niece in the picture? She is adorable and that Minnie shirt is lovely! That pizza looks fantastic, I would love a slice of that right now!

By the way, I accepted the job offer today. I have to put in my notice at work tomorrow. Thought about calling my boss today, (side note- he just arrived back from Disney World yesterday)..I decided that I should tell him face to face tomorrow.

Congratulations on the new job! I hope it will be a great fit. Good call on waiting until you see him in person to break the news, you can soften the blow with talking Disney with him first!

@Songbird76 I was thinking about your trip dilemma and would it be possible to do Universal first? I know it might not be because of the other family that is coming with you. But you could rent a car and go to Universal first then return the car to the airport and take Magical Express to Disney. Then of course Magical Express back to the airport. If you did ME this way, with the return of the rental car all you have to do is find a flight number that comes in at the time you want to be returning your car and reserve with that flight arrival number and of course give your real departure one. I have done this and it worked fine in fact we arrived almost an hour after the flight arrival time I gave and it was all okay. This doesn't solve the Polynesian problem but it would solve some back and forth between Disney and Universal. But perhaps it wouldn't work with all the groups you have involved.

I think it is nicer than the Poly ( just my opinion) and it is where we are looking at for our next Florida trip.
The theming seems to be more Thai etc part of the world rather than Polynesian.
I will have to look up some pictures. The Polynesian style at Disney just screams "Tranquil" to me, and that's what I love about it. The natural wood, the lakes, etc...if the Royal Pacific is anything like that, I'm sure it will be great.

We didn't stay there but did go over for dinner and a bit of exploring and found it lovely and a bit quieter than Poly

My dad had been going to WDW for longer if that helps...he was 35 when I was born.
That was not the case for my Dad. My dad went to Disneyland back when he 11 years old at a time that WDW didn't exist, but he didn't go to WDW before my mom won a Mother's Day drawing on a local radio station that was a free trip to WDW for 5 days and 4 nights. My dad know some of the MK attractions since they were at Disneyland first such as Jungle Cruise and Enchanted Tiki Room.

My dad was in his 30's at the time for his first WDW trip and he was in mid 20's when I was born.

My Mom on the other hand went to WDW once before I was born with her being 21 at the time with MK being the only theme park WDW had at the time. I don't think Disney started construction on Epcot yet at the first time she went to WDW.

I have a crazy idea but it may just work. Seeing you have a PITA stay at Endless Summer(UNI) for your off days. Make PITA take a taxi (seeing he's unwilling to use any other service) to UNI to pick up the rental there while you and your kids enjoy some resort time until he picks you up. That way you can return the car at UNI not having to pay for days you're not using it. That may work out being the cheapest way to go and you don't have to deal with the car rental. what about doing arrival night?
Sounds great...but how do we get back to the airport to fly out? I think the shuttle was like $18 per person. It all just seems so ridiculous to me. The amount of time it wastes to go back and forth when we are already at Disney...why go all the way to the airport to rent a car? Am I crazy? It doesn't make sense to me!! I don't understand his "logic". We'll have a great trip regardless, I know that...I just wish he would also trust MY judgment. He gets upset when I ask his opinion on everything and tells me "Just make a decision!" but then when I make a decision, he questions everything and makes me change it. Mixed messages!!
