Please understand that I am not making light of your cousins situation. I am just making an observation. Exercise is a major roadblock to good health. I walked into my office area one day a number of years back and found one of my co-workers with a gigantic cast on her leg and on crutches. Not 5 minutes later we got a phone call telling us that our boss was in the hospital with broken ribs and punctured lung. Both, happened while skiing. The first was a nasty fall and the second was when a tree apparently jumped out in front of him while he was headed down a major slope. Tiger woods has spent years healing from various knee and back injuries all related to a sporting exercise. There are way to many examples existing that show the folly of exercise. Sonny Bono comes to mind. So I will die out of shape, but, with a lot fewer lost days to healing from sporting injuries.
I hear you. I've been dealing with the bursitis in my hip now for 3 years. I'll feel better for a bit, and then I step wrong and I can't walk for a couple of days. And it started when I had been doing daily workouts for 3 months....in which time I managed to lose a whopping 5 lbs....in 3 months of daily 1 to 1.5 hour workouts. It's quite demotivating. And yet I keep trying.

I completely agree for the most part. However, I do think that Pregnancy/motherhood is still one of the larger hurdles and biggest decisions for women, when it’s the right time in their career. (Imo) I don’t know if that will ever change... but it has gotten a heck of a lot better.

@MinnieM123 , I missed your post and have no idea where to find it on these pages, but I want to say that I agree women have always had goals, even if different goals. My mom left her career, as a secretary, to become a stay at home with me, her first child, and never went back to (paid) work. She had and achieved so many other goals though, and I respect her more than I could ever put into words.
I think the main difference between now and then is that women have the CHOICE to stay home or have a career, including careers where they’re now the one’s with an admin assistant..women now have any opportunity that a man has, and guidance counselors/teachers/society showing them that they can do anything they want to do, including being a SAHM or an admin assistant, but not restricted to it. :)
I'd say the pendulum has swung a bit too far the other way now in some cases. When I was in college, I still planned to be a SAHM, and when someone asked me what I planned to do once I got my degree, and my answer was to be a SAHM, I got all kinds of judgment. "What a waste of money when you don't even plan on using your degree!" and "But...you HAVE to have a job! So many women fought just so you could get a job, and you're just going to throw that away like it doesn't matter! You owe it to them to make use of the sacrifice they made!" I'm all for equality and having the CHOICE, but I don't want to be forced into having a paid career anymore than I want to forced into being a SAHM. And there are men who would love to be SAHDs, but there's a huge stigma attached to that as well...a man isn't a man if he's not the "bread winner". (not how I feel, but the sentiments I hear from a lot of other people) I just want everyone to have a choice and to be able to pay the bills, whatever choice they make. We're not there yet.

We have many woman around here that have chosen to stay home and raise families. It maybe a regional demographic thing but I have not seen any men stay home to raise families nor do I know any else where but I have seen the television shows and movies like Mr. Mom. Me I did both, I was home for my kids and had a full time job beyond being a homemaker. It was Plan B of C. When I resigned from my job on a Friday I opened my business on Monday. It took a great deal of juggling, being a homemaker and operating a business. It worked for me. When I went to sleep, I slept soundly.
One of my friends here works and her husband is a SAHD. And one of my high school classmates' wife walked out on him and their kids, so he has sole custody of them. He does work, but somehow he is always available to help the kids with homework, be at their school events, etc. He up and moved to Texas and had no one to help...I think he's pretty amazing for doing what he did. So I do know it happens, even if it isn't common. I think it would be more common if there weren't the stigma attached to it. But I could be wrong.

Elvis died on this date in 1977 and it's Madonna's birthday.
The thing with Elvis is he has plenty of days he is remembered by besides his death.

Bay Amusement Park actually celebrates Elvis's last ride on the Zippin Pippin' Roller Coaster on August 8. They called it Elvis night. I read they even had grilled Peanut Butter and Banana sandwiches according to their facebook page.

The Zippin Pippin Roller Coaster is known as Elvis's favorite roller coaster even back when that ride was in Tennessee before Bay Beach got it.

Here is the Wisconsin version of Elvis's favorite coaster:

I feel that way about most Spanish songs.. especially if Daddy Yankee or any reggaeton artist involved.lol
Same with Bachata.. I love Aventura/Romeo.. but the lyrics in English either usually don’t make sense, or are pretty sexual/weird.
There’s nothing comparable that I like in English. The music/tempo is always what makes the songs good.

Even a staple like Suavemente... Translate the lyrics and the song becomes really stupid. It would never be a hit if sung in English.
Well, to be fair, there are some songs in English with ridiculous lyrics....eg: "I don't like the rain on my shoe, but I do love you." or "I don't want to see a ghost. That's the sight that I fear most. Rather have a piece of toast."
There are just some real stinkers out there, no matter which language. When people are trying to find words that rhyme AND fit in a particular rhythm, there are going to be some stupid lyrics.

I was comparing it to the new one at Disney in the same style that will be at wayyyyyyyy more expensive. I want to stay at either Portofino or Royal Pacific, Hard Rock does nothing for me.
Oh I know what you meant. I'm sure Disney would charge a lot more for it...but I wouldn't be drawn to it even at the lower price. It is not inviting to me at all. That modern industrial feel just turns me off. It makes me feel like I'm in an office. I don't want to feel like I'm in a workspace on my vacation. I want plush chairs and soft lighting, etc. The food court looked like a cafeteria. No thank you. I want to stay at the one that has the polynesian theming. Is that the Royal Pacific?

Yes RP. It's a little sleeker and more modern than the Poly.
