And yes this makes my brain go ping!!!!

It was my goal and certainly your folks goal to make the next generation of women even more aspiring. Even if I lack the comprehension to grasp the details of what you young woman of tomorrow bring to the table in this generation. More *sighs* :banghead:

True, but the person I originally outbid wasn’t the counter bidder. There were 2 others and one showed up in the last 30 seconds. I had no chance to counter.

I never go on those bidding sites. Clearly, there was a method the last buyer had to buy the school books--seconds before the plug was pulled--sleazy. No thanks. Sorry to hear that you couldn't get the item.

Brunch that morning...
My steak and eggs, with corned beef hash, sausage, and curly fries, and DWifeys fiery tomato soup and what’s left of her blueberry pancakes...!!! :hungry:

Meh. No competition. I just had a breakfast bar that was probably made over a year ago, sitting in box on a shelf in a warehouse, and finally made it to my grocery store. And then, God only knows how long the box has been sitting in my cabinet . . . :hilarious:

Some mini golf on the upper deck, the view, churning up the sea,

My first thought was, I wonder how many of those golf balls actually end up in the sea? :p Reminds me of when I was a kid and my family went to a mini-golf course. One of my brothers acted like it was some sort of driving range, and he'd whack the balls so hard that they'd end up flying out to the street (with cars driving by . . .) :joyfull:

P.S.: Gorgeous view from that upper deck, by the way.

@StarWarsGirl has impressed me for years here, with her computer skills and overall intelligence.

Just wanted to make a general comment about women and aspiration goals. In my thinking, this current generation is not "better" than, but "equal" to the women of the past. The subjects of the goals may update a bit from generation to generation. However, aspiring to attain (a variety) of personal goals hasn't really changed--even if more career opportunities have opened up nowadays, in a more gender-neutral playing field.

(I realize you're also aware of the above, but I just had to put in a good word for my mother and grandmothers, and those before them, who accomplished great things, despite not being rocket scientists!) :)

The problem with that is that the "O" almost never "GO" no matter how much they get cheered on.
Just messing with you. Not being a baseball fan myself I really cannot relate to any sport at all. They all represent a certain city or state, but, almost none of them are actually from those cities or states, so what brings on the loyalty. As a kid I was a Yankee fan but that was when baseball players were really baseball players. Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra and the rest. They played every game (Mickey was known to play with bandages on his legs) Whitey Ford pitched almost every game and stay in the entire time, no relief pitcher. He batted all the time as well. They made very little money and loved the game for the game itself. Those guys I could get behind and cheer on to Victory, which they almost always did. Modern day teams do nothing for me.
I love sports movies that depict how sports were in their earlier days like The Natural and even parts of Field of Dreams. Thee are others that I cannot think of. I am sure that there are tons of players today that really lve the game but money too often gets in the way .

My DD lives for Mathematics. Math and Statistics major for her Undergrad. I can't even wrap my brain around her Masters Program in Computer Science Engineering and focusing on Data Analytics for coding/programming to create software for data reconfiguration analysis. Understand why I can't even wrap my brain around it?
I thought Python was a snake. :cautious:
You should hear my ds talk. He is turning 15 on Friday and the way he talks about computers leaves me just saying, “ok”. He is in the process of building his own computer. His graphics card arrived the other day and he was just staring at the box in awe. He used to do that with Legos. I think dh got him a motherboard last night. Speaking of Legos, my stepdad pitched in and we bought him this that he will get on Friday. Hopefully he will like it as much as a computer part. Remember it was what he was angling for in our May trip, but it was too much money.

We bleed Cubby Blue here, can't see that ever changing. It was quite the week when they won the world series a few years back. This is very similar to one of my sons shirts. His is on a polo with it in the upper front corner of his shirt. Love it. (obviously the one on left)

Well my plan is to buy the teacher's edition and student notebooks of the program from the company and then buy the readers off of Amazon as needed. They have all the books and they are for the most part cheaper there as well. This way I can spread out the cost. It really stinks that I cannot write off any of the school supplies I buy on our taxes. I know some states allow it, but not PA. I could also just go to the library and get them for free.
