I hate white cars. I owned only one in my lifetime and although I found that they, amazingly, do not show dirt as quickly as cars of different colors, it seems like everyone has a white car around here. (and always an SUV) Doesn't matter what brand of SUV they buy they all look alike. Not fond of grey either, but, many people like them.

We have to remember that I grew up in the 50's when cars came from the factory in multi colors on each vehicle. Always color coordinated, but, they were works of art. We have become so boring as a society.

My concern is the advent of copy cat ailments. Illnesses of the day are very popular. I know that many people have legitimate health issues that involve gluten, but, others get a gas bubble and immediately decide that they cannot tolerate gluten. Many people, not necessarily people from our little group of people, are easily suggestible. And in my years of fighting off old men and cheese samples, have a real life experience that until I was in my early 60's I never knew about or really have heard of any type of gluten intolerance.

And all of a sudden the whole world it allergic to peanuts. Never heard about it happening until about 20 years ago. How did so many kids all of a sudden become allergic to peanuts. When I was a kid, if we wouldn't have been able to eat peanuts we would have starved to death. Even worse there would never been such a thing as a fluffernutter. I can't imagine a world without that.

I never knew anyone growing up in school that was allergic to peanuts. There are theories that the chemicals put on the peanuts when they are growing or the genetic modification of them is what is really affecting those that are allergic today. Theories of course.

@ajrwdwgirl did you try this for breakfast at Toy?

View attachment 300475

I did. Brad and I shared it and we both had mixed feelings about it. It certainly tasted like a s'more and luckily it wasn't too graham cracker heavy because neither of us are too fond of graham crackers. The parts of the sandwich that had a lot of the filling were very good and sweet but if it didn't have a lot it was a little dry. Did you have it or are you planning to try it? I would say if you are interested try it, and share it if possible.

We also went back another day and shared the BBQ brisket. The beef was good but the bread was a little dry and there was a strange burnt garlic taste to the bread used for the brisket sandwich. We also got the tots as our side and there were 8 tots total which I guess are enough but it seemed a little skimpy when eating half a sandwich and four tots per person.

Overall I like the theme of Woody's Lunchbox but I'm not rushing to get back. I would rather go to the Brown Derby Lounge or take the time to go to a sit down like 50's or Sci-fi. Or actually to Pizzarizzo, I'm one of the few that actually kind of likes that pizza and salad there. I've always had a fresh pizza there.

Happy farm market Saturday! I'm hoping between the rain and going early I'll get what I need quickly and get some sleep. I can't sleep during thunderstorms. If the nap thing doesn't work out I'll work on the arc

Have fun at the farm market! It looks like rain might be in our future here today so I think I'll stay home from ours and hit it on Wednesday instead. Hope you get a nap!

You're killing me with all the gorgeous photos!! The gardens, etc. are just gorgeous. But then I saw the meat display case in St. Paul, and decided that was my favorite picture! :hilarious::hilarious:

I think that was my husband's favorite part of the journey too. He loves going to the meat counter there, they offer him samples of whatever he wants. He limited himself yesterday to two samples!

My initial round of testing for gluten came back inconclusive just a year later it came back positive. From my experience short of a biopsy the best way to know is try the diet. Sorry that most likely didn't help. Just curious has he been tested for celiac?

He has been tested once per year for the past 3 years..everything came back negative for celiac and all blood/urine tests are in normal ranges.

@21stamps I found a nap yesterday a whole 20 something minutes of glorious quiet:hilarious:

You need it!!! Give yourself a break from cooking and the noise of teens! :)

When are 2 younger dogs were puppies, they developed a scaly rash. The vet recommended changing to grain free and that seemed to do the trick. No more rash. Sadly our older dog is starting to have health issues. She is peeing in places she is not supposed to. We have even put down potty training pads which she used to use, and she is ignoring them. The vet checked her urine and it came back fine. He said older female dogs can have incontinence issues.

My dog is having pee-where-he’s-not-supposed issues for the past few months. It’s so frustrating!!! He’ll be 12 years old in a couple months and vet said sometimes this can happen. The weirdest thing is- it’s only in T’s rooms!!! Both the playroom and bedroom. He’s always been jealous of T... even after 8 years. I suspect that it’s more than old age, but it’s so frustrating either way. I try to keep the doors closed at all times.. if one’s open, Reilly will pee somewhere about once per week.:banghead:
They’re small spots and typically we catch them right away.. but I worry about damage to the carpet padding.

Has anyone been to Six Flags Chicago?

I haven’t been to a Six Flags Park since I was a kid, and that was only once around age 10. I see so many people talk about them here, thought maybe we would give it a try.

I am trying to buy tickets online for the Christopher Robin movie at the theater near us that has the comfy Lazy Boy type chairs. The seating is all assigned. The website is not working.:(

Do you have more than one theater? I always search several of them to see who has the best seats, and willing to drive an extra 10-15 minutes if find our favorite row/seats. I’m probably late on this reply, maybe the website came back up?

Universal runs deals like that a few times a year. The catch is usually you have to but and use the tickets between certain dates. But not always. You should see the hotel promotions they run;)

I’ve been sporadically looking for good Universal deals for over a year now... haven’t found any!

Lotta white cars there! ;) I only see 2 that are not white. Are white cars more popular in your area? Oddly enough, I don't see too many white cars in my area.

Although I’ve never owned a white car, they tend to be pretty popular around these parts.
The color of our dirt tends to be lighter, so it really shows up more on darker colored cars.
Also, darker colored cars tend to absorb more heat in the summer...or, so I’ve been told...! :cyclops: ;) :)
