The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

One of the crazy things about South Florida is that black cars are probably the most popular. šŸ˜‚
Myself included. All I drive is black on black vehicles. I do get the windows tinted which helps a lot with the heat.

My husbandā€™s cars were white, orange, blue, red, and (bright) green. I am not a fan of colored cars!! I do think white cars and white suvs look nice though, I do kind of like dark brown vehicles as well. The thing with heat though, if his cars were 105 degrees and mine was 115 degrees because of the black.. theyā€™re both still HOT

Ohhhhh. That doesnā€™t sound good. What didnā€™t you like?
You actually save gas because the AC needs less power to cool down a white car vs a black car.. a black cat is constantly absorbing all heat.. the white is reflecting most of it.

Tinted windows do worse on the car skin and chassis, even if the internal area seems "colder". The best way is to use mirror like reflective film on the windows (polarized).
Those do reflect most sun and do not transfer the heat to the chassis.

Although Iā€™ve never owned a white car, they tend to be pretty popular around these parts.
The color of our dirt tends to be lighter, so it really shows up more on darker colored cars.
Also, darker colored cars tend to absorb more heat in the summer...or, so Iā€™ve been told...! :cyclops:;):)

Yah, I figured the heat issue was probably the reason for so many white cars.

Oh, @MySmallWorldof4 -- (drum roll . . .) I bought the vacuum cleaner!! :D (I can't believe how boring my life must be if I get excited over a new vacuum cleaner?? :p )

I held off for a few weeks as I was still looking around, and then I almost bought it online (when you showed me the extra 20% off code). But then I noticed this week (in my area) the exact same one was a BB&B with a $30 off sale and I had a 20% off coupon. And--it was actually in stock at my local store! :jawdrop: So with the MA sales tax, it came to approx. $133.

Already tried the removable small vac part and did the stairs--that thing is powerful! Got so much more gunk out of the rug and more of Jack's (shedding) dog hair. It works great! So THANK YOU--really good recommendation!!:happy:

Thank you for the science lesson of the day. That's why I love this thread--I always learn something new!

Oh so happy for you!! To be honest, I got excited when it got delivered and couldnā€™t wait to vacuum. :)

Sooper Dooper Looper. He doesn't like the really steep drop on EE, or the drop on Splash. He can do SM and BTMRR, and 7DMT of course.
James called it a kid ride by the time he was 3. UNI has a tea cup ride he may like, ET is fun, Kong has screens but is more like dinosaur and Seuss is super cute. Jurassic Park is like Splash but you don't really see the drop

I'm sure white does reflect some heat, but, even tinted glass gets hot and that translates into interior heat. I think the idea of a white car being thermostatically cooler was probably a true story until cars started having AC in just about everyone of them. Now no matter what color the exterior is the interior is the same set temperature.
