Glad to hear that your cruise was awesome-- but then again, you always seem to have a great time! We'll all be patiently waiting to hear the play-by-play of the cruise events, and for your pictures, too! Happy you're back!

Thanks, Minnie...!!!!! :)
Our family always tries to have the greatest times possible together, of course, and, although things are never perfect (totally impossible), it’s our sense of humor/humour ;) that really gets us through those minor glitches...we try to find the lighter side of situations, and then look back on sooo many of those things and laugh even harder...!!!!!!! :hilarious:
I will definitely share a few tidbits of that “fun” from this trip... :cyclops:;)

One thing I know for sure, I will never have the regret of not having spent enough time with my family, and when this is all over, I’m gonna’ ask the “Captain” ;) if we can all go around again a few more times, when everyone is ready, after their time...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious:;):)

Sympathy like. I started loading up the car just after 7:30 this morning.

Not that I buy many veggies or fruit, but I do kinda like farmer's markets in the summer and fall months. (Figgy you'd be proud of me--I bought a small bag of carrots today at the grocery store! :joyfull: )

Anyway, it sounds like yours is lot more "together" with the vendors setting up early. The one that's in my area, it just seems like at least some of the vendors are more lax about setting up. :( (not really inspiring)

The best way to get fruit or veggies in growing season is to just drive up to NH or Maine on back routes, and people put out these small, roadside family stands, with freshly harvested veggies, etc., from that morning. Problem is, it's a hike to drive out of state for this. (We've done this on the way back from vacations up North down through the years.)

Glad it works out well for your group with good times. Not everyone has a happy family.

On one of our Florida vacations it was vidallia season and we took the van. Guess what we came home with

I know, and my apologies if that offended you, or anyone else here.
I actually even thought of putting a disclaimer in my post because of such.
Again, my apologies if I offended you, or anyone else here...definitely not my intent.
Can I just blame it on my post-trip high... :cyclops:

But, seriously, my sincerest apologies.

Huh? Not following this. I was saying I was very happy for you and your family, and not everyone's family was like that. It was a compliment to you.

I honestly, thought I may have hurt your feelings, and others.
My apologies again...sometimes I’m so dense (and I just now had my first “home beer”... :)) :cyclops: ...OK, maybe I’m dense a LOT of times...?! :cautious::facepalm:
But, I still do have a few doozies to post about this trip... ;):)

My sincerest apologies for mis-stooooooooooopid-interpreting your post, my friend...!!!!!!!:)

Can I like this more than once.:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry: and as always you can have all the bread;)

Like away. I just read about your haul at the market and now I wish I had gotten some cilantro, onions and garlic for some fresh salsa. Maybe next week.

That sounds really nice. Wish we had something that good in my area. I did go to look for the farmer's market (that I haven't been to since last year), but they weren't even set up yet at 8:30 this morning. Didn't want to stick around until 9 -- I had other things to do.

I would have thought that your area would have lots of markets. I’m glad ours opens at 8, I wish it opened at 7 though.

Oh I also tried some coffee from the vegan restaurant in town, they had a stall at the farm market. The coffee was actually a very good roast, it was smooth and not bitter. I might end up going vegan....for coffee.

I want to thank everyone that sent out birthday wishes and especially to my family that made it a fun evening even if the "old person" jokes were plentiful. I want to thank my grandkids for at least acting like they enjoy my company and Julie for a wonderful orange cake

and both her and Amy for pulling it all together. I am indeed a lucky man to be still tolerated in spite of my caustic wit and bad timing. I love you all. Can't wait to see what they come up with for my 80th.

Enjoy your evening with oldest dd and your sil. I think we all love hearing about your family. It is wonderful to read about such family devotion nowadays. I am lucky myself to have a loving family and consider my chit chat friends family as well. Cannot wait to read about your trip! :)

I found out today that the public schools here start August 15! So early this year. I am not ready for a new school year yet.
I am. Ask if they need a substitute teacher until Labor Day. ;):D

As I said on an independent thread that most probably haven't seen:
I've already gone on our family vacation.
I've already slept late.
I'm now done with my one week of teaching at VBS.
I've had burgers and ice cream galore.
The only thing left this summer is non fun stuff, like: stain the fence or paint the railing on the front steps.
............boring. I'm ready for those kids!

He loved it! Although he did say that missed me and would have more find if I was there.lol
Apparently not enough to leave me this morning for a Cub Scout swim party ;).
I let him stay up late last night though.. we played Monopoly until my eyes were closing. We didn’t finish, will be back at it tonight. That game is never ending.
I never liked Monopoly. It always takes forever.
