We just back from the farmers market. It was a good one today. I was happy that the blueberry lady was there, but Brad was sad that our normal bread guys were not. There was another bread guy that is really good too and they had savory breakfast pastries this morning, yum!:hungry: We also came home with big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green beans, lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers. Oh and a big bunch of basil for homemade pesto! We have a party this afternoon to go to, but tomorrow after our special polka church service I will be doing a bunch of cooking and prep with the veggies! I'm making my great-aunt Avis' refrigerator pickles for hubby with the cucumbers.
Yummy!

He loved it! Although he did say that missed me and would have more find if I was there.lol
Apparently not enough to leave me this morning for a Cub Scout swim party ;).
I let him stay up late last night though.. we played Monopoly until my eyes were closing. We didn’t finish, will be back at it tonight. That game is never ending.

Welcome home, T!! :) Happy to hear that he's home safe and sound.

Wait a minute--don't you usually go on a Saturday? That reminds me, I'll have to see when there is a farmer's market here--not sure if it started yet, as I haven't seen any reminders in the local circulars that get mailed out. Maybe the growing season up here is later?
Sometimes we also go to a Friday one when we're up that way which has larger growers who sell in bulk but have a bit less variety. The farms who sell there are all family farms just a bit larger. That one also tends to have later season crops and stays open longer into the fall. My favorite orchard sells fruit so I don't have to go up to it and pick my own, I'm just lazy like that;)

I want to thank everyone that sent out birthday wishes and especially to my family that made it a fun evening even if the "old person" jokes were plentiful. I want to thank my grandkids for at least acting like they enjoy my company and Julie for a wonderful orange cake

and both her and Amy for pulling it all together. I am indeed a lucky man to be still tolerated in spite of my caustic wit and bad timing. I love you all. Can't wait to see what they come up with for my 80th.

👴 P.S. I actually can wait... not in any hurry at all.

That sounds really nice. Wish we had something that good in my area. I did go to look for the farmer's market (that I haven't been to since last year), but they weren't even set up yet at 8:30 this morning. Didn't want to stick around until 9 -- I had other things to do.
