The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

sorta did, my harsh answer was called by one of the mods.
The hilarity is the other guy claiming I am "acting childish'.
even after the whole part where he implies and accuses me of being something I'm not.
Only real answer after such Bs reply is just eyerolling.

*edit*
hopefully he will go through his "im going to add you to my ignore list".
I would probably add him so I do not have to read his dumbfounded accusations.
Which thread?

So last night I watched the movie that Steve Carell was nominated for best actor: Foxcatcher. It was very good but heartbreaking. There was great acting but I prefer Mr Carell as Mr Scott. I kept thinking and hoping that Mr. Carell had the other actors in stitches during filming.

in other news, I'm ****ed again.
someone put words in my mouth, claiming I'm something im not, and then someone goes "buddy buddy" to follow the lie and claim its true..

I'm not a fan of when someone loves to skew and cherrypick to denigrate a person.

I think some of the posts were deleted, so maybe I missed the whole thing...

Don't name call. Seriously. The guy may have been being an idiot, but there's no need to stoop to that level. It just makes you look bad in the end and could probably get you demerit points (and we like you, so we don't want that to happen).

Just make your point, and when the guy starts putting words in your mouth, say, "You're putting words in my mouth. I'm done having this conversation." And then if he responds, ignore him! Seriously, you don't need to go through all of that.

But we don't want to see you get in trouble with the mods, so no name-calling. Okay, buddy? :)

The Main Street Hub redevelopment thread.

Thanks. That is the one I thought.
I have a few folks on ignore, so the flow of conversation just ain't there for me.

Here are my rules though: always defend my friends, ignore the bullies, and do not feed the trolls.
Other than that - yeah, sit back and enjoy the show.

Read the first page ... took someone off ignore for a minute ... slowly backed away.
Not interested in going there again.
I'm not going to let myself get drawn into a debate over there. I posted a couple of corrections since I deal with autism on a daily basis, but then left.

My thought: the lawsuit is ludicrous. I can't believe the courts are even allowing this. My lawyer father even thinks the whole thing is ludicrous. He said no way would he sue over this.

Second: the system is not perfect, but I think the main problem is this one size fits all philosophy. I think instead of just doing DAS, there could be a couple of systems for parents to choose which is best for their child.

For instance, some kids can't stay in the park for that long. Disney could do a system where they get a certain number of rides through the FP+ line on their card per day. They can combine it with FP+ and do everything they want to in a shorter time frame.

We like the DAS system, and we think teaching my brother delayed gratification is a good thing (for him, we can say, "We will ride it. But not right now.") So parents who like that system could continue using it.

Or they could have a third option. They could have a time limit. So for certain hours during the day, the child and the group could go through the FP lines for the attraction. So if the child can only go from 11-3, needs a break, and then comes back 6-9, then between those hours, they could get the access to the FP+ line, and then take needed breaks in between.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head. But no sense in posting it over in the thread where I'll probably just get trolled.

In other news, it seems I cannot win.

Asthma's been bad all weekend. I've been on four hour nebulizer treatments and oral steroids, plus an antiobiotic.

Today, we had a repairman come in for our broken microwave. He was wearing a lot of cologne. My mom sent me out the front door and away from where he was, but when I got home, I could still smell it several hours later. We even aired out the kitchen. Neb not working, debating whether to go to the ER.

Oh, how I love having asthma. :banghead:

I know sorry, I was already annoyed when I read his comment.

I was in another forum trying to have a decent conversation (in a photography website).
And this guy was going ad hominem in a very annoying way.
Trying to discredit me using dumb blows. (Ie, all my camera gear is Nikon. because I had a bad opinion on the newest nikon camera, they claimed I was a Canon fanboy and I'm like "WHAT?" I reply that all my gear is nikon and answers "child". )
Seeing another post using similar tactics definitively unsettled me.

I understand that. Sometimes it's really hard not to reply, but I figure nothing I say will change their minds or their behavior. So instead I just walk away and hope everyone stops feeding them so they just go away...

I was out at work all day, and as usual, I missed whatever activity was going on in the referenced thread. I think your advice to @Cesar R M is quite balanced. Whatever the discussion was, if Cesar felt he was being treated unfairly, he should state his side of the discussion and then step away. The more a disagreement escalates between two people, the less effective the discussion becomes. And as @StarWarsGirl95 shared, name calling doesn't win you any points.

To Cesar, I hope all is well now.

You're going through a rough patch lately. First the car, and then other things; it's like dominoes. Hope you feel better soon.

However, one positive beam of light shone in your direction: the part-time tutoring job. I think you'd be outstanding, helping other students to learn. :) And, they pay you for it!!

Smart move. I wonder how long it takes for them to increase. We often see runners come to our altitude to train for races.

One time, while hiking a trail in the Colorado mountains, I got altitude sickness at the top of the trail. I thought I was past the point of any detrimental effects of high altitude, because at that point, we had been out in Colorado for about a week. I recall the first day we flew into Denver, (the mile-high city) that I got a nosebleed the following morning from the altitude; and that elevation was lower than the mountain trail we went on, a good 6-7 days later. High altitudes really take some getting used to.
