You're going through a rough patch lately. First the car, and then other things; it's like dominoes. Hope you feel better soon.

However, one positive beam of light shone in your direction: the part-time tutoring job. I think you'd be outstanding, helping other students to learn. :) And, they pay you for it!!
Thanks. I think I can manage to stay out of the ER for tonight, but I need to call my doctor. The asthma's been going on for almost a week now, and my normal action plan isn't working.

The peer tutoring news is the best news in a while. I used to tutor in high school (all four years), and I only got paid in student service learning hours for the aggravation (although twice I got a gift card from the sponsors). Now I get paid (and hopefully college students are better than high school students). I had to get a tutor for statistics, and that was the only reason I got a B in that class (I was failing for a while) so I kind of feel like I'm giving back now. :)

And don't forget how awesome all of this tutoring you do is, with regard to your resume. You're way ahead of the curve here with your academic teaching (tutoring) experience. That's really wonderful.

As for the asthma, I hope your doctor can help you out with that.

Arguing with people on the internet is just as bad as arguing with a wall. Maybe worse. People hide behind the anonymity that the internet provides. Think they can say anything no matter how crazy or offensive.
I don't know, it sometimes feels like a challenge. Most of the time I feel that I'm up to it, sometimes not. I really don't think that people should be able to post whatever they want, especially when they can't back up what they are saying either with logic or fact and then take a condescending tone against someone that disagrees with them.

When people are having a logical debate and not getting nasty, internet arguing can be fun.

Other times, it's like you're doing this: :banghead: multiple times.

I was out at work all day, and as usual, I missed whatever activity was going on in the referenced thread. I think your advice to @Cesar R M is quite balanced. Whatever the discussion was, if Cesar felt he was being treated unfairly, he should state his side of the discussion and then step away. The more a disagreement escalates between two people, the less effective the discussion becomes. And as @StarWarsGirl95 shared, name calling doesn't win you any points.

To Cesar, I hope all is well now.
Yup, name calling accomplishes nothing.

I like to defend my friends, but when there's name calling, I don't have much of a leg to stand on. Keeping it civil, one person becomes nasty, then we can definitely defend. But there's not much we can do once the name calling starts.

Now someone brought religion to the autism thread.

Because that thread wasn't already controversial enough as it is.

I forgot to mention: got the car back this morning. I couldn't go to ice skating because of my asthma, so my parents went and got it (and let me sleep since I was up every four hours overnight thanks to the asthma). New battery, new ignition, and some cleanup on the interior. We're still dealing with AAA. Complaint filed. Evidently, they'll call me later this week to get the story from me directly.

I was missing The Jackrabbit today, though because it was in the 50s and, if I still had the Jackrabbit, I could have had the sunroof open. New car does not have a sunroof. :( And the window wasn't good enough because there was a lot of standing water on the roads that kept coming up and hitting the window.

I get that. I'll let you handle though. Probably better at it than me anyway :)

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Welcome to the interwebz.

You know what's funny?
I'm not going to let myself get drawn into a debate over there. I posted a couple of corrections since I deal with autism on a daily basis, but then left.

My thought: the lawsuit is ludicrous. I can't believe the courts are even allowing this. My lawyer father even thinks the whole thing is ludicrous. He said no way would he sue over this.

Second: the system is not perfect, but I think the main problem is this one size fits all philosophy. I think instead of just doing DAS, there could be a couple of systems for parents to choose which is best for their child.

For instance, some kids can't stay in the park for that long. Disney could do a system where they get a certain number of rides through the FP+ line on their card per day. They can combine it with FP+ and do everything they want to in a shorter time frame.

We like the DAS system, and we think teaching my brother delayed gratification is a good thing (for him, we can say, "We will ride it. But not right now.") So parents who like that system could continue using it.

Or they could have a third option. They could have a time limit. So for certain hours during the day, the child and the group could go through the FP lines for the attraction. So if the child can only go from 11-3, needs a break, and then comes back 6-9, then between those hours, they could get the access to the FP+ line, and then take needed breaks in between.

What is this above? Oh... it is common sense post and not being a jerk at the same time! :)
