Yay! I'm all ketchupped! Or is it Ketched up? Whatever....I'm not 50 pages behind anymore. Where is everyone? All watching the World Cup? I am SOOOO glad the Netherlands didn't qualify for once. It's so peaceful here without all the fireworks and the vuvuzelas and airhorns every time the Netherlands score. Anyone know if Turkey is in there? My neighbors have been awfully quiet.

How many times did you fall? If it were me, I'd be covered in mud...I lack coordination for things like that.
Not once but I did have one close call on a really steep down hill. I'm sure there was a bit of luck involved;) Confession I did giggle at some muscle bound fool who fell several times.
Said women shouldn't do challenges

Hey folks! I'm back from my trip with my friend. It was fun. I still am going to share some of my Epcot day pictures. Warning: travel story ahead..... My travel home was not very delightful, I had a connection through Atlanta and there were storms there and in Orlando. I got switched to a connection through St. Louis then ultimately back to the connection through Atlanta. I almost missed that connection though, the plane was supposed to take off at 10:20 pm for Minneapolis and at 10:19 pm my flight from Orlando hadn't landed yet. Luckily the Minneapolis flight was delayed and I had a chance to catch it. I ended up having to run the length of the concourse, and I don't run ever, and basically got on literally at the last second. Or so I thought, after I sat down Southwest decided to hold the plane for about 20-25 more minutes because there was another flight with a bunch of passengers that were supposed to connect to the Minneapolis flight. They didn't make it. So my flight came in at 1am. My bag however did not, it had been sent to St. Louis.

The bag agent was helpful and told me it would be on the 1pm flight into Minneapolis (on June 23) and reassured me at least twice I would be called or notified when they had it. But because I lived out of the delivery range they would FedEx it to me with arrival by Tuesday. :( So I met up with my hubs who was picking me up and made it home by 2:30 am and got lots of kisses from the dog. On the way home, hubs told me that he has to go to the airport Sunday (today) to pick up the large vans they need for the church trip, apparently it is cheapest to pick them up at the airport. Great I thought, when Southwest calls or notifies me about my bag I will just tell them I will pick it up. Well I hadn't been notified about my delivery by 2:30 yesterday so I called and yep it was there. So I tell the guy that I'm just going to pick it up on Sunday since I'm traveling to the airport anyway. He says okay and gets a little snippy that he had just filled out the FedEx paper work. So anyway, hopefully it will still be at the airport today when I go to get it.

Lessons learned:
1. If I book a flight with connections just take a carry on bag
2. Never have a connection through Atlanta, this was my third horrid experience with that airport.
3. When checking luggage, take a picture of the outside and inside in case it gets lost so you can easily describe it. Luckily I had a picture of the outside of my bag (I had sent a picture to my friend when I was all packed at home and sent it to share my excitement). But when I tried to remember the inside of my bag at 1 am I was not to descriptive.
4. Maybe instead of trying to save money with a connecting flight, maybe just spring for the more expensive non-stop flights.
Sorry you went through all that just to get home.

Sorry you went through all that just to get home.

Thanks, at least I’m home and hopefully my bag will be home today too! I have Basin products in there! One bath bomb I specifically bought to use this week, it is a birthday cake bath bomb.

Your challenge seems interesting. I’m not a big fan of hills but it might be a cool experience. I’m glad that the muscle head fell a few times too!

So DD brings home the invitation (that she had to make herself) for the "6th grade send off"...there's no graduation as such here, but every year, USUALLY schools do a 6th grade musical as their final event of the year and then they are done. DD was REALLY looking forward to it, because she does Musical Theater lessons and she loves it, so she couldn't wait for that. And then they decided not to do one this year, because with the new merger, they have 2 classes of 6th grade, and they decided it was too many kids and they couldn't give every kid a part and so a lot of the kids would only be in the chorus and it is a lot of work to put in, bla bla bla. So no musical, but they still wanted to do SOMETHING special as a send off. It's in 2 weeks, and we JUST got the information now, and while traditionally, the whole family would be invited....grandparents, parents, siblings, etc, we're now restricted to parents only. Even DS doesn't get to go. And to add insult to injury, we have to prepare the food ourselves for the event. So, they couldn't even pay for invitations, the kids had to make them and bring them home so they didn't have to send them in the mail, and they can't even go buy a couple packages of cookies? So basically it's an obligatory "It will look bad if we don't plan anything, but we really can't be bothered, so let's let the families do it themselves, but we don't have room for all the families, so they can't bring anyone" party. If it weren't for the fact that DD deserves some recognition for all her hard work, I'd refuse to go. I think it's absolute carp that they aren't doing ANYTHING for the kids at all, when previous years, they got to bring their whole family and the school paid for the treats served and drinks, and it was a special evening for those kids to say goodbye to the school. And now they can't put the work in for a musical, and can't put money in for some stamps to send real invitations out, or for some simple snacks to serve. What's the point? Why the charade of a "send off"? They literally could not do any less for the kids. What kind of event makes you prepare your own invitations, entertainment, AND food?

Yikes, talk about botched travel!

As for the bag, have you tried to put a custom tag? I always have a TMNT tag with a picture a friend of mine did, so its very easily to spot.
Perhaps you could do something similar.

I got my bag back, it was sitting in Southwest's office just waiting and looking lonely waiting for me. I think it had quite the adventure. Southwest told me it was on the plane to St. Louis but the tag taped onto says Midway (Chicago). Southwest also gave me a travel voucher for a decent amount which I didn't ask for or expect really, so I plan to use that towards my trip to Anaheim in 2019 for D23 Expo.
