The family of the baseball kid just posted this thru the baseball page..

I had tears in my eyes the entire time.

Update on Andrew...
I must say that today was an emotional day for my family. With the help of many people, my son Andrew was able to once again walk through this door. (His home door) It was first due to God and all his grace who has delivered us a lifetime full of blessings. It is due to the most skillful, knowledgeable and dedicated group of medical professionals who gave him treatment all throughout this
process. It is due to all the baseball community, teams, players, teammates and people we have never meet who reached out with countless thoughts and prayers. People who just wanted to see this little boy play again the game that he loves. It is due to my firefighter brotherhood who once again put others before themselves and continue to give everything to anybody. It is due to our friends and family who continue to see us through these tough times. They are our strength when we are weak and are our comfort when we are sad. Thanks for being there for us unconditionally. It is due to my amazing wife Karen. From the first call to go to the emergency room,the ride in the helicopter or just sitting countless hours with Andrew, you remained our rock. You kept us calm, you gave us direction and you steered us toward hope. For all this and for everything you do, I love you. It is due to two amazing kids, Jordan and Sarah. It's going to be a long road ahead but we know you'll be side by side with your brother. Continue to inspire him, push him and encourage him when he is feeling down.

It is due to a little boy who wears #14 in honor of his dad. A little boy who lights up the day with a flash of a smile. A boy who gives anything to play the game of baseball. The kid who wants to be your friend, the kid who wants to be your teammate, the kid who wants to be all he can be. Today, you are my hero. Today you showed the world just how strong a little boy can be. You looked your teary eyed dad in the face and said, "dad, I'm ok". You have brought hope, joy and love to so many people with your fight, determination and desire. You have made us so proud, and you have made the world a little bit better. We have a long journey ahead but you have the home team behind you. You have the community pulling for you. Andrew, we love you so much son and we are gonna help you get , One Step Closer! #14

So I went to Target this morning intending just to buy Mickey shaped goldfish crackers. It took me an hour to get out of that store.:rolleyes: And those goldfish were not the only things in my cart.:oops:

We stopped at Target yesterday with the sole intention of buying the Black Mickey Dog bed that was in the ads we found some other stuff we liked but we both agreed that it was fluff stuff that we might get if we bought the dog bed. Alas, the Target was sold out of the dog beds so we walked out of there without buying anything! I was proud of us.

@figmentfan423 More on teenage boys...

I was walking upstairs, minding my own business, when all of the sudden, I was assaulted. There was a giant stench monster emanating from my brother's room. Well, the monster was defeated with some Febreeze and turning on the AC, and the teenager who lives there was told to change his clothes and put on some deodorant, but I still haven't recovered. :hungover: Meanwhile, the teenage boy still had no idea. "It stinks?" he asked. :rolleyes:

I apologized to my parents for those times in my early teen years I argued with them about showering/wearing deodorant.

It was. This was the first time I put dill pickle relish in it. The brand was Bubbie's. The only ingredients are the cucumbers, salt, dill, garlic, mustard seed, spices, and water. They make a sauerkraut that is just cabbage, salt, and water. I have put that in the salad too, but ran out. The nearest place to buy it is 40 miles away. In any case the salad was very refreshing, and delicious. :)
Why not make your own and save money;)

Sympathy like. We keep an air cleaner and a can of air freshener by the boys rooms and one can in their bathroom in additional to the plug in;):hungover:

Sounds like my ds. I miss when he didn’t smell bad.

You are correct. How hard can it be? Have you made it? I actually looked on a site how to make fermented cabbage, it is not pickled as there is no vinegar(learn something new everyday), and it says you need to pound the cabbage layer by layer to release its juices?
Sounds like something from The Half-Blood Prince’s potions book. ;)
