That flatbed trailer in the foreground was full of mesquite wood when they showed up at 6a to start gettin' the coals ready to go into the smokers.
The rack in this next pic is where they start the coals. As the wood burns, the coals fall through to the ground. Then they scoop them up with shovels and feed them into the smokers to slowly smoke the meats...!!!!!

Pop and the old house with the cistern next to the kitchen. The house hasn't been lived in since my grandfather passed in '78 and my grandmother moved into town 7 miles away. And yes, that is a palm tree on the upper right. There's another one next to it to the left hidden by what's left of the house...both have been there since I can remember...!!!!!!!
