I was taking pictures of the Stormtroopers as they approached, and all of a sudden they surrounded me, and ordered the area cleared! :jawdrop: I was interrogated and asked if I was authorized for this area and I said no. Stormtrooper gave me a break and said he'd allow me clearance, and to keep my eyes and ears open, and report any suspicious activity to them. :p

Why didn't you use your "Minnie mind trick" and tell them you weren't the Minnie they were looking for...?! :cyclops:

Hubs and I went to a friends retirement party and then we went to the Minnesota Arboretum to see the peonies that were in full bloom. They were so pretty and the area smelled so good. Peonies are my favorite. I hope you don’t mind me sharing some pictures.

Ran my first race today...I've been running all these years so why not before who knows. 5K in 34 minutes......Amazing how the course record is 14 minutes. Hilly course too. The event is Gaspee Days....which proceeds the Boston Tea Party in Revolution fables.

Before the parade comes the running. There is also various events throughout the week,
That's pretty cool. I had never heard of the burning of the Gaspee. Quite an interesting history!

Oh, ok. I understand a bit more. I do think that it is their responsibility to make sure that all kids are safe, and to notify parents when an incident happens. Maybe they have notified the other boy’s parents, but at this point they need to take stronger actions to protect your son!
Well, I got a BIT more info from him yesterday when DD came home from camp. The bus pulled up and he raised his arm and she just shook her head. When she got off the bus, she hugged him and said "How did you do that in the 3 days I was gone!!?" and he told her that they were walking, the kid told him to look out, but he was just standing still. Then the kid bumped into him, so he told the kid "hey, watch out." and the kid shoved him to the ground. So it does sound like it was intentional and not a reaction to noise or anything. Just, didn't like being called out for not paying attention to what he was doing or someone standing where he wanted to be. He apparently didn't like it that DS didn't move to let him walk there.

The one thing I'm not sure how to handle is the fact that it's ALWAYS on a Friday when his teacher isn't there. I don't think the kid dares to mess with DS when the teacher is there to see it, but the assisstant just isn't as good with classroom management. We'll talk with them and see what can be done. They know DS's history and that he came to this school because of severe bullying at his old one...they will take it seriously. And hopefully they will notify the other boy's parents if they haven't already.

I’m writing a negative survey to ****’s for the first time. I’m fuming though.

Went into the store because I currently have a ton of coupons, + a $10 reward. T likes the Nike Elite shorts, I don’t like paying for them, but thought I’d check if there was a sale that I could combine with coupons and reward.

No Sale on Nike, but Under Armour was Buy 1 get 1 50% Off.. awesome right?!

I decide to hold on to my $20 off 100.. and use the $10 off $50 plus my $10 Dicks Cash.

Go to the register with 4 items.

Cashier rings up quickly, with my coupons and says- “Your total is $86”

I say “Wait, that can’t be correct. Can you show me the breakdown?”

She huffs and pulls out the tags.. I said “Yes, but they’re buy one get one 50”.
she audibly huffs again, a line is now forming, I’m embarrassed and ask if she can cancel the order and let me look at the clothes, I’ll wait for the other people in line.

She says “I already applied your coupons, you can buy it, then move over there and check your receipt then exchange something if need be.

People in line are staring at me.

I say “OK, that doesn’t sound right, but I’ll do that.”

I pay. Move over. Look at the receipt and tags.

Not one item was 50% off. I had even checked to make sure all of the racks had the sign, and that it wasn’t limited to a specific style.

Go back to the UA section, ask the girl back there, she tells me it doesn’t apply to a specific side of one rack. So.. I grab 2 items that will apply, go back to the front.. ask to exchange.

“I’m sorry, but you’ll only get the ‘return price’ after your coupons.”

Wait, WHAT??!!! You just told me to do this??
I say “I’m not trying to be difficult, but this doesn’t make sense, I told you that I wanted to halt my order, and you know that I didn’t leave the store.”

She turns her face to the register and loudly says “No, you’re not TRYING to be difficult, you ARE being difficult. There’s nothing I can do. I can exchange at this price, or you can keep what you have.”

Long story still long.. I’m furious, basically wasted all of my coupons and earned rewards. It’s $34 difference, but still.. the ONLY reason I chose those items was because I thought I would be saving an additional $34.
Was there not a manager there you could talk to about it? She was very unhelpful and rude, besides the obvious misinformation. Wouldn't that be considered false advertisement? To advertise a sale and put items NOT included in the sale with the sale items and a sign marking the rack as included in the sale? They are HOPING people will make that mistake and end up having to pay more money. That's unethical and possibly against the law. I'd go back and ask for a manager.

In school you learn, the Boston Tea Party follows the Boston Massacre. So no one really knows except us, haha. Just think...all that good tea in the water. Little Rhody always gets outshined by Massachusetts. Which ironically where I want a job. Which hopefully they transfer me oversees.

I just spent three days in the hospital. I had two roommates over that time. One had his left leg missing. The second one had 4 of his toes missing and was in there for them to cut the dead flesh from two more. Both situations caused by Diabetes. That would be all the motivation I would need. People don't really believe what Diabetes will do to them, Perhaps part of the Diagnosis should include a visit or a film of the ravages that it can and does cause.

That's a good PSA to all from you.

Speaking of you, I hope you're o.k., for whatever put you in the hospital for three days! :jawdrop: Glad you're home.

Update: I just read your message about sepsis, and that can be very serious. I'm glad you are doing better now. Take good care.

Went to a family friends memorial service earlier today. Neighbors of my folks. Wasn't unexpected, but, so sad, as he basically drank himself to death.
He was never mean or violent, and was a good friend, husband and father, but, no matter what he did, he just couldn't shake that demon, until it was too late.
He was on the list for a liver transplant, but, upon further examination, they found something wrong with his portal vein and determined it couldn't be done.
He was in hospice when he passed.
Left behind his wife, 3 sons, a daughter, and 3 grandchildren.
Only 66 years old. So very sad.

Sorry to hear about that neighbor. I know that some people in his condition can be helped, while others just can't. Very sad, indeed.

It looks beautiful! Is it expensive to get in? I really want to go to the Keukenhof here, but it's really expensive and I'm afraid DS would be bored, so it wouldn't be worth the ticket price for him.

It is a beautiful place, and that was just one of the garden areas. There are many more and a huge wooded area with trails for hiking, a prairie, more trails through the bog/swamp, and orchards. Also another with more gardens, a sculpture garden and hedge mazes and more. I think the cost of admission is $12 a person and kids under 16 are free. We have a membership which used to be $100 but is now $110 for the two of us. It is an awesome deal.

Can't quite figure out the specifics (above) of the sale prices, coupons, etc., but what I do know is that sometimes stores create their own demons, with somewhat confusing promotions. I've seen similar types of scenarios play out at Kohls, etc., between cashiers and customers.

In the end, everyone is frustrated and there are no winners. It often results in customers walking out the door and not returning. (I've done that.) It may help to write to the headquarters about your experience.

I would be fuming as well. Was there not a store manager? I hope you took the cashiers name. And you should not have felt embarrassed. Anyone would be annoyed at having been flim-flammed by an incompetent cashier.

Me too. I'm sure my parents are tired of hearing me talk about it; they'll be happy when it's in our driveway. Today there was research done about insurance (good news, I get to stay on my parents' policy even though the car is in my name. Thanks Geico) and the price we should sell my old car for (if my grandfather changes his mind, we're trading it in. We're all so done with that car).

I think we should be able to get the price we asked for. We only asked for it down by $1500, and we found another dealer offering one in white for that price, so we're going to use that as a negotiating point. Even though there's no way I would EVER get white...

It's now more the financing portion I'm worried about. Getting approved and such. That will be such fun. Not.
With your good credit you will not have a financing issue. You have a steady job. No worries. Dealerships have loads of finance companies they use.
