I’m sorry that you had to deal with a crazy parent... but FREE PRINTS?!?!?!!! Wow!! That’s worth it!!
Sounds like you did a wonderful job!

Wow. My heart goes out to your family, and especially your son. :( I would request a meeting with the school director, as well as the parents of the boy.
Are they even aware of either incident? Was the other boy reprimanded at all, or parents notified? At this point these incidents are too close together. The other child should be suspended and a permanent mark on his school record, one more incident and he should be expelled.

I usually wouldn’t say something like this, but I’m sorry, 2 incidents within a matter of months, 1 resulting in a broken bone, it’s too much.

T has been hurt on the playground, and other kids have been taken to urgent Care, sometimes broken bones, sometimes stitches. This happens during (tag) football or soccer though, not out of malicious behavior. If it was during a sport then the other family shouldn’t be responsible, but this sounds like the kid is trying to intentionally harm your son. I would definitely want a meeting with them, and with the school admin. It sounds scary.

Is there any classmates or even schoolmates who could drive him to and from school until he heals?

And yes.. I would love the name of the soccer player! :)
Well, it's a bit different because of the nature of this school. Have you ever read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime? It's kind of like the kid in that book. This school is exclusively for kids with Autism, ADHD, and Oppositional disorder...the majority are Autistic. So they do react differently to different situations, and DS has always had an issue knowing whether something was done intentionally or accidentally. He doesn't have the empathy/insight. So he said it was intentional, but when he was talking to the doctor, he also said the kid wasn't watching where he was going. I don't know if that means DS yelled at him for not watching out and the kid shoved him, or if the kid bumped into him and he interpreted it as a shove, or what. And he won't tell us his side...he HATES talking about sad/scary things. He didn't even want my husband to tell me what happened while he was in the room, because it makes him relive it. We have to wait until he's in bed, or outside playing or something to talk about incidents. That's something his therapist was trying so hard to get him to TALK about things. But he just wont. I really need to talk to the teacher to find out what exactly happened, because I know they are supervised at all times and chances are someone saw it and knows what actually went down. They can only have 14 kids in a class, and they have recess with their own class and usually a couple of adults.

But since it IS the same kid, I do want to talk to the school about it, because obviously, even if these are all accidents, he's volitile and they should be kept apart. They need to consider the safety of the other students, so if this kid is aggressive, he shouldn't be in the class with other kids.

@MinnieM123 Are you sitting down?
If not do so now
Please eat whole fat 100% mayo. The low fat options are no good with all the fillers and sugars. Go for one with no fillers, no added sugar and an oil like olive

I know!! Who would have thunk it! Just found out that it is actually not good to eat reduced fat milk because of the processing. I no longer drink it, but whole raw milk is healthier.

O.k. I give up. Though I'm far from a health food person, I do try (once in a while) to maybe select something that is lower fat or sodium. That's what I've read to do.

Also, I have a friend (who is diabetic) and was she having trouble regulating her insulin (had to increase it, which made her hungry and she was gaining a ton of weight). Her doctor suggested that she was a candidate for gastric bypass, but she first had to go to weeks of weight control with a dietician. She had to pick all low fat foods, in order to get in a safe weight range, for the operation. So I figured if the experts told her to use lower fat, then I figured it was probably good advice for anyone.

But then I read your comments above about lower fat, and sort of threw my hands up in the air. :( Oh well.

On a more sober note.. this story breaks my heart.. every baseball parent’s worst nightmare... and my biggest fear with T pitching. I don’t know this family, but we’re praying for them. Just received an email from our coach, T’s team is going to make cards for the boy.

Not that I know anything about baseball, but why the heck don't they make ALL the players wear those hard-had baseball caps -- not just the person who is up at bat?

True. I was trying to think of sports where risk of getting into an ICU situation from another person or object was less likely. Soccer, Football, Lacrosse, Baseball..another player can cause serious life threatening damage.
Diving, gymnastics, dance, and horseback riding can cause the same if you fall or hit something.

I love tennis, love swimming, hate golf.. but have less of a fear of life threatening injuries with those sports.

You’re right. Bottom line- humans are never completely safe. ;)

ETA- I forgot basketball and volleyball .. but I’d put those in the ‘less chance of ICU’ camp. Even though I did have my nose broken during a volleyball match.. I’ll take a broken nose over something worse!

Don't forget figure skating. Years ago, I saw some bad injuries on the ice from that sport. Had a number of tumbles myself, but luckily, nothing major.

I was driving along, and I noticed a Starbucks being built. I was seriously confused because I swore there was one across the street.

I looked and sure enough...

Starbucks is like an infestation.

There is truth in what you say in one sense. However, I happen to like Starbucks. They can build them one on top of the other for all I care--I just happen to LOVE their dark roasts. :hungry:

So last night, actually from 3- just about 10pm I volunteered to help out with rehearsal for the gymnastics year end show. Apparently I was the only parent that volunteered for last night. I helped the photographer by handing out forms and stamping checks, and basically making sure everyone knew where to get their kids pictures taken. So the way it worked was you needed a form per kid, and if a kid wanted a picture with a friend, or if their were sibling pictures, then they needed a separate form for that. So things are rolling smooth. One of my friends was on line and all of a sudden, a mom came out from the room they were taking the pictures at and walked to the table where I was and huffed with her hands on her hips. She said basically that next year they needed to have a better system for pictures or better instructions, because she wasn't told that she needed a separate form filled out if her 2 kids wanted a picture together. She said she came to me and said that I told her she needed a separate form per kid, but she didn't know that she would need one if her kids would get a picture together. Then she said, "Well you just lost out on some money." I was thinking, well you didn't mention you wanted your kids to get pictures together.:banghead::banghead: Plus I didn't know she had 2 kids. :rolleyes:She came from behind me when she asked about a form per kid, so obviously I answered her question and didn't ask if she wanted the kids in a pose together. All I said was, I don't work for the photographer. I am just a parent volunteer and I would pass on her criticism. My friend who heard the whole thing just rolled her eyes. At the end when I went to bid the gym owner goodbye, she asked what the ruckus was about. I told her, and she said that even if there was a sign, that their would be people that wouldn't read it anyway. I wasn't fussed. In the whole scheme of my little world right now, I brushed it off as just someone needing to complain just to complain. She easily could have filled out another form in the picture taking room as her kids photos were being taken. On another note, the photographers came to me at the end and thanked me for helping out. They said they never had such a smooth flow of people. They offered to give me a free package of littlest dd when she takes team pictures in the fall.:)

You did a good deed. The mother was a jerk. And those are the facts, Jack!! :D

Watching The Wedding Singer on Bravo...Love this silly flick, too...!!!!! :hilarious:
Do you know how many times I have watched that movie? "Hey, someone put some pants on that kid". When we got home from the kids' gymnastics show we saw it was on Bravo. The kids started watching it with us. I had no idea that Bravo did not censor swear words. Dh started talking real loud when Robbie started singing the song he wrote.:hilarious:
